No ,its a sad isolated incident and has no reflection to me on other South Korean people. That's too far a stretch,he had been in this country since 1992 and he just snapped it seems. It could have been anyone of any race.

Was listening on the news after I got home from work about the shooter. Seems that he has been known to have problems all the way back to when he first got to the United States - even recorded in his school records (high school and college). Several were interviewed and spoke of how they tried to get him to get help - which he refused.

My hope is that because of this case that better screening will start for those coming to this country. This young man had known problems - and yet it evidently was never addressed - else this never would have happened.

It goes to show that the immigration system is over burdened. Someone with a known mental problem with known depression is just not someone that is going to be moved thru with immigration services - if they were taking the needed time with all requests. Sadly, the over 30 dead are proof that such needed to be done.

My hope is that those in congress will learn from this - that they will see that the office of immigration has the needed funds to follow the laws that are already in place. Medical problems are addressed within the process and if actually followed very well could have prevented what happened.

The immigration issue - both legal and illegal - needs to follow the set rules no matter what the nationality.
