I was driving at about 5 am and sort of dozed off...needless to say I learned my lesson about that...because I went on the shoulder and hit one of those orange barriers they put up when there's construction on the highways. It completely ripped my mirror off. If someone took down my licence plate number, what would happen if they report it as reckless driving?

I hear this from my fellow Americans every day. But I never hear exactly why they think it so. On what do they base this statement? Have they lived in other countries or spent extensive time overseas for comparative purposes? Are there those who disagree? I don't want sarcastic or mindless answers, please.

I have no agenda against Mormons or Jehovah Witness.
The problem is that I have a no soliciting sign on my door and yet they still knock.
When I point at the sign, I either get of we didn't see that. It's at eye level...
Or "we aren't soliciting, were spreading the good news.." (blah, blah)
I heard of a guy doing this to keep telemarketers away and I think it worked for him. Not exactly the same situation, but here's my idea.
Put a sign on my door (below the "No Soliciting" sign) that reads in effect that violations will result in a fee of $50 for my time.
Anyone ever try this or know about it? can it actually work?

The leading scientists of the world were asked this question. Hundreds of them refused to answer because its not a complete question, but one from England did. He said yes, and then wrote into the survey that man's contribution to global warming was between 2 and 4 percent most likely 3% total. This was removed from the UN Survey - why?

By the way man's contribution to global warming was 10% in 1925.

The Angry White Southerner Party?

First of all, it is safe to assume we got the white liberal voter and recently we've been getting the white independent.

Now, 100% of black people in congress are Democrats. 90% of jews in congress are Democrats and atleast one of the jewish Republicans, Arlen Specter, is a liberal. A majority of muslims voted for Bush in 2000 but after all the anti-muslim crap from Republicans they voted mostly for Kerry in 2004. (WE ARE BRINGING JEWS AND MUSLIMS TOGETHER IN THEIR SHARED HATRED OF BUSH!) Dems own the gay vote, the asian vote, the native american, and the hispanic vote. Repubs are totatlly alienating the hispanic voter with their extreme xenophobia. We all know illegal immigration is illegal, but there is no need for lies and propaganda. These people are human too. I mean, "Illegal immigrant rapes puppy"??? Do you cons pass around these news stories trying to say all illegals are puppy rapers?

Ok i have a report and this guy wrote a letter to his sister while in the civil war what does the letter mean?

My beloved sister,

“With all my devotion to the Union and the feeling of loyalty and duty of an American citizen. I have not been able to make up my mind to raise my hand against my relatives, my children, and my home. I have therefore resigned my commission in the Army, and save in defense of my native State, with the sincere hope that my poor services may never be needed. I hope I may never be called on to draw my sword…….

RALEIGH --Elizabeth Edwards says she is scared of the "rabid, rabid Republican" who owns property across the street from her Orange County home -- and she doesn't want her kids going near the gun-toting neighbor.

Edwards, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, particularly recalls the time neighbor Monty Johnson brought out a gun while chasing workers investigating a right of way near his property. The Edwards family has yet to meet Johnson in person.

"I wouldn't be nice to him, anyway," Edwards said in an interview.

SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HIM YET SHE CALLS HIM NAMES AND GETS A PASS!

does he not understand that he can no longer get everything he wants from congress? he is calling for a "meeting" but states that it is in no way a negiotition. he thinks he can sit all the dems in a room and tell them what he wants and how he wants it done and it will be so. sorry, but its not going to happen. he no longer has a republican congress behind his every move. the dems are doing exactly what the american people want, and thats who they work for. why does bush not understand that he has lost?

Bush has done many questionable things while in office.

Lets take Iraq for example,
It is a fact that all of the so-called justifications for invading Iraq have existed since Desert Storm. Diplomacy had failed failed with Iraq, which can't be a surprise since we were buddies with Iraq prior to Iraq invading Kuwait and this might be upseting to Saddam. Saddam obstructed weapons inspections in such a manner that it could not be determined if they still possessed WMD's. We did have proof that Saddam would use them since he did in the 80's when we were still allies. The connection between Al Qaeda and Iraq was that Al Qaeda who is opposed to Saddam's regime had been working in northern Iraq through the 90's.

So we toppled a regime that had once been our allie and had committed genocide while it was an allies. We accuse this regime of working with our enemy who happens to have a history of hating this regime. Thousands are detained yet details of this kept secret for security purposes.
