Bush has done many questionable things while in office.

Lets take Iraq for example,
It is a fact that all of the so-called justifications for invading Iraq have existed since Desert Storm. Diplomacy had failed failed with Iraq, which can't be a surprise since we were buddies with Iraq prior to Iraq invading Kuwait and this might be upseting to Saddam. Saddam obstructed weapons inspections in such a manner that it could not be determined if they still possessed WMD's. We did have proof that Saddam would use them since he did in the 80's when we were still allies. The connection between Al Qaeda and Iraq was that Al Qaeda who is opposed to Saddam's regime had been working in northern Iraq through the 90's.

So we toppled a regime that had once been our allie and had committed genocide while it was an allies. We accuse this regime of working with our enemy who happens to have a history of hating this regime. Thousands are detained yet details of this kept secret for security purposes.

Will Bush's SNAFU force America to figure out how it can prevent this from every happening again? For example making sure that we stick to the Constitution and International Law.

My question here is will everything that Bush has done push Americans to rethink our methods. Maybe we'll figure out how stop playing favorites, boss other nations around and to start respecting the Constitution and International Law.

Lauren V, If Bush began giving respect to those who volunteer and sacrifice their lives and stopped exploiting their noble intentions then maybe I'll give him some more repsect

I urge everyone to look into Public Law 107-243, Al Qaeada's offer to oust Iraqi forces from Kuwait, paramilitary forces opposed to Saddam working in Kurdistan, Iraq during the 80's and 90's

A different way of looking at it, good question. I think you've hit on the truth. Bush's Administration will be a study in how NOT to conduct war in the future. His legacy will be one of being held up as an template for how to avoid failure and division in our country.

Lauren, Iraq attacked us? HELLO Yourself.

UN weapons inspectors enjoyed free reign of the nation, prior to our unprovoked invasion. Hans Blix insisted the UN should be allowed to finish the job they had started. Saddam agreed, and let them look wherever they liked, unobstructed. Bush said no, the UN had to leave so we could attack.

No WMDs have been found in Iraq. Occupation forces have searched far and wide four years with no success. We have also uncovered no evidence of nuclear or biological weapons programs, or of any connection with Al Queda.

The fact is, Al Queda had no presence in Iraq prior to our invasion. Today, however, they do, and Al Queda has grown in response to our unprovoked war and our slaughter of 60,000 iraqi civilians.

The only WMDs Saddam ever used were those we sold to him when we encouraged him to wage war against Iran. We are such paragons of moral virtue--selling weapons to both sides of that conflict.

The end of the Cold War didn't lead us to rethink any of the atrocities we commit ed during it, so, no I don't expect us to rethink our past behavior in light of the current set of atrocities.

Unfortunately.

Look at this site. Notice how few people have a clue as to what the US has done to people all over the world.

Heck, notice that at least of person who answered this is under the delusion that Iraq attacked us.

NOPE
just flat out running this country into the ground for his own gain.

Sadder still, his laws and words pretty much paint him as a DICTATOR.

Our founding fathers would roll over in their graves, rise up and give him the boot for perverting the founding principles of this country.

Any president who ignores the people, violates their constitutional rights and says too bad, "it's my way or the highway", is a travesty and should be impeached before he completely destroys what this country stands for and our relationships with other nations.

Destroying is more like it. He is forming the North American Union, which will lead to the end of the USA. He has watched as tax cuts have been used by the elite to dismantle American industry. He left the borders open during a time of war. Why should I go on anymore?
I wish that I had your optimism and that this guy would cause us to wake up and start following our own Constitution. But if we can't even unite against a horrible leader like Bush, what can we unite against?

When you complain that Saddam was our ally during the 80's, you have to remember who their enemy was in the 80's. Also happened to be our biggest nemesis in the Middle East in the 80's.

I think he's unintentionally forcing folks to follow politics as a matter of recognizing that it's in our own best interest. The wool is being removed from peoples eyes.

If you are trying to ask, will we learn from Bush's mistakes...

I think the answer is that most people would NOT have made the mistakes that Bush has made and there would NOT be a need for rebuilding.
