RALEIGH --Elizabeth Edwards says she is scared of the "rabid, rabid Republican" who owns property across the street from her Orange County home -- and she doesn't want her kids going near the gun-toting neighbor.

Edwards, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, particularly recalls the time neighbor Monty Johnson brought out a gun while chasing workers investigating a right of way near his property. The Edwards family has yet to meet Johnson in person.

"I wouldn't be nice to him, anyway," Edwards said in an interview.

SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HIM YET SHE CALLS HIM NAMES AND GETS A PASS!

Elizabeth Edwards just needs to chill. Lot's of people have guns in their homes to proect themselves. It's only the 2nd Admendment right. The guy said that they were people who didn't havea right ot be on his property. There's 2 sides to every story. Till we hear his side we shouldn't jugde him for being wrong. She should meet the guy. He might not be so bad. You don't want your neighbors to dislike you personally and he doesn't seem to dislike her. It's a free country, he can plaster his property with Rudy '08 signs if he wants because it's his property. It just makes her seem like the kinda person who won't want to answer the door if someone with baggy jeans and a doo-rag walked up needing help. So what if he's a Republican, is that a reason to be afraid of him. She's not afraid of cancer but afraid of a "rabid, rabid Republican" I'm not Republican, but let's be realistic here: thats not why you should be afraid of someone or not speak to them.

You don't know ANY LIBERALS and yet you make 15 posts a week insulting them, their families, their lifestyles and their personal choices and now you want to scream "unfair" because of what Elizabeth Edwards said?

You're precious, you know that. You walk around with a double-edged sword making cheap shots at Liberals like you know the first freaking thing about any of us and then cry like a big baby because of something Elizabeth Edwards said in an interview. What a hypocrate you are! Typical, though... pretty typical.

I wouldn't want my kids playing with Republicans either. They might grow up to be like you!

Your right

Redpublican is a very demeaning name to call someone.

As for Rabid: It's a basic adjective. Like this definition from DictionaryDotCom

1. irrationally extreme in opinion or practice: a rabid isolationist; a rabid baseball fan.

Go big Blound Go

Because we're so used to seeing and hearing from rabid Republicans that it seems like a fitting description? I don't know about you, but if one of my neighbors saw the need to bring out a weapon and chase workers around I think I would avoid him as well. What would you do? Go shake his hand and congratulate him for acting like a lunatic? I've seen you call Democrats names in this forum and YOU get a pass. Why should she be any different?

EDIT: HEY STUPID MARXIST? Ever hear of Karma? What a perfectly scummy thing to say about another human being, congratulations.

[quote] Johnson, who has posted a "Go Rudy Giuliani 2008" sign on a fence

Maybe that's where she got the idea he was a Republican.

I can empathize living next door to crazy people. The problem must be three times as bad in the American South.

You don't have to know people to see and state the truth. Go put on some more makeup, fattie, don't try to think when you know you can't do it.

she called him a name because of how he is acting- name calling is wrong for anyone to do.

people who are sick tend to get passes-sad but true- when my cousin has cancer he didn't get in trouble for anything he did wrong.

That's because she has cancer and is going to die and get John Edwards a vice-presidency for her sacrifice. It would be shameful to point at a woman w/ that kind of a problem and say "apparently it's matastasized to her brain, we don't understand her vitriolic rhetoric towards a gentleman she doesn't even know".
