All the redneck racists on the web start whining. Its always the same:

>"What about free speech" Answer--Free speech means you can say what you like--it does not grant immunity from criticism. And no one is obliged to provide you with a microphone.
>"It was just a joke" Answer: Saying something that is clearly hateful and insulting--and designed to hurt others--is not a joke. That's the same excuse any schoolyard bully uses--and is just as fake here.
>"you're overreacting" Answer: Inus has done this repeatedly--promised to stop--and broken his word tod o so. He's used up his "second chances" and his credibility.

Inus should be fired. Bullies--racist or otherwise--should not be tolerated.

i think that what he said was wrong, but i also think that it was a joke and should be treated as such. Just a really bad joke, and he also has the right to freedom of speech, all though he is wrong in his actions, there is nothing we can do legally.

I am writing a paper on American Racism. I want to write about some of the most unfair convictions against blacks and how they would not have been convicted or given a lighter sentence if they were white. I'd prefer the cases to come from the 1950's or so era.

One of the cases I want to use: 17 year old Jeremiah Reeves who was caught having consensual sex with a married white woman in Montgomery Alabama and sentenced to electrocution on his 21st birthday.

Republicans since every problem in the world and with your party is the liberal medias fault, why don't conservatives and Republicans get into the field of jounalism. And since all you cons and republicans watch fox news, then why are fox news polls showing that the presidents approval rating is 36%. Fox News is not liberal media is it.

I was waiting in a cell at the court after I had already seen the judge and he had refused to release me on personal recognizance. My bail was set at $500. Later a security guard walks around and goes cell by cell asking people for a name and number so he could make the call for bail for you. I was never taken out f the cell so I could talk on the phone. He was the one who made the call supposedly. I think the person being held should be allowed to talk on the phone instead of some guard because what if he never made the call and pretended he did? My friend said she never received such call and as a result no one knew I was there until I was sent to the jail and was able to call from there. If they would have let me make the call or at least dialed the number in front of me and then put the phone to my ear I could have posted bail right there at the court. Was it unconstitutional or a civil rights violation? I think it was and I am going to sue.

On the sign for the speed limit of a school zone it says when "children are present", but does that mean Monday through friday, during normal school hours even though the children are not actually crossing the streets and in front of the school, so they are not in danger of any passing cars. Or does it mean only when children are actually visiblly present, crossing the street before and after school? So could I get a tickect for going 35 in a 25 school zone at 11 am in the morning when kids are not even in front of the school, but actually present within the school?

Does this mean that the Democrats are flexing their power against the Republicans?

Think about it, a gas weapon based on pot. You nail the enemy military and they completely lose their motivation and ability to concentrate. Then they get the munchies, which eats into their food supplies.

To make it even better, because it isn't designed to kill or maim, there might be some Geneva Convention loopholes that would make it legal under international law.

Why hasn't the military researched and developed such a weapon?

It is obvious to even the most ignorant close-minded moron that this war is spiralling into utter chaos and all-out civil war with absolutely no chance for the US to "win" in any concievable way. The only solution is for the coalition forces, particularly the US, to leave immediately and let the Iraqis settle their differences on their own. The only reason there are insurgents is because of the invasion of their country by an aggressive and arrogant foreign power intent on stealing their oil and occupying them indefinitely. This was the plan from the beginning and Bush and his ilk were too short-sighted and ignorant to foresee the inevitable consequences of their actions.

Is it likely that you could get jail time for a first DUI with no previous. There is no mandatory jail time where I am. I think they are just saying it's a possibility to shock him - I hope so.

This is my brother whose 19 - so also underage and never been in any trouble before.

I got 30 days for a DUI but that was because of my priors and I had a record.

Would it not be very harsh for a first offence?

Don Imus is a radio personality that made a crude joke some people overreacted to.

Joe Biden is a Democrat that Republicans would NEVER question how he words his compliments if he were one of their own.

Why the wide stretch to compare the two, unless it is a partisan attempt to justify intellectual dishonesty?

Moltar?...

I have seen several question on here about Imus statements and how he should not be condemned due to freedom of speech. My point is this: Freedom of speech does not protect you from being accountable for what you say. I think Imus, Biden, Coulter, Hannity, or whoever else should be villified for some of the things they say. Just because you have the freedom to say something does not mean you are not going to be held accountable. I could wear a sign that says " I hate Jews" in Israel, but I'm damn sure gonna get my azz kicked. Do other people agree that many people use freedom of speech as a way to avoid accountability for their actions?

Here we have Don Imus. He made a mistake. But, he's not an elected leader. We have an elected leader in Joe Biden who, more than once, has shown the stereotypes floating around in his mind.

IMO, Don Imus is a radio personality. Joe Biden was elected to represent his constituents.

Who is more deserving to lose their position?
