Liberals and Conservatives?

Which one is the democrat and which one is the republican? Iknow its a silly question but I would like to know.

By and large Democrats are liberal, but not all, just most.
And by and large Republicans are Conservative for the most part but not all

liberals is a put down for Democrats. when actually some are against abortion and gay marriage. But they just do not believe in emposeing their ideas on others like to pass a law that says you have to be my religion, feel the same way as I do about things and if you choose to be gay I am not going to put you in jail.
conservatives are Republicans and that to is not true they are anything but conservative. They call it family values.
but to take from the poorest Americans and give tax breaks to the rich is hardly family values. They use religon as a stand. and work the abortion issue to death.
We start a war in Iraq and kill men right out of high school but we won't allow abortions so we are respectable.
the Churches go along with that to get and keep all the money they get. And the tax breaks.
they are for big business and less government so they say.

It hasn't always been this way, and not all Republicans are conservite minded in every way, the same goes for Democrats. The Democrats used to be conservative but, around the late fifties early sixties they started heading to the left and it was the Republicans who went right, prime example Ronald Reagan went Republican because the direction the Dems took. That's why a two party system works because you can change a party over time but, it's not going to be over night.

Democrates are generally thought to be liberal and Republicans generally thought to be Conservative. In the case of any particular issue they can be found to switch rolls.

Neither is either or better put is not any liberal is one or the other but they do tend to lean to the democratic side.

Hi sweething----it's not a silly question at all-------conservatives tend to be against abortion and gay marriage while liberals tend to support gay marriage and abortion-----conservatives stand for 2nd amendment rights----while liberals scream for gun control.--------liberals tend to support bigger government and more social service projects that turn out to be just more ways to make the rich richer (pork barrel) and raise taxation.
