Hi i got a ticket for disobeying license restrictions code and section 14603. I was driving someone else under 20 with a provisional license. Unless a provisional license is also considered a restricted license that doesnt seem right to me. I am 16 in california. I should have been given a ticket for violating vehicle code and section 12814.6 which states New licensee, failure to obey provisions. Is this correct? if it is can the ticket be removed or what?

WASHINGTON –– While the Clinton administration was pressuring Colombia to stop human rights abuses, Rep. Dennis Hastert was telling the country's police and military leaders that rights concerns were overblown, a newly declassified government document says.

In a May 1997 visit to Colombia before becoming House speaker, Hastert "decried 'leftist-dominated'" U.S. Congresses of years past that "used human rights as an excuse to aid the left in other countries," according to a cable signed by then-Ambassador Myles Frechette.

Hastert "vowed that he was committed to correcting that situation," it said.

Hastert also encouraged Colombian military and police to bypass the White House and deal directly with Congress, the cable said.

Did you cons. complain about this visit too?

At least Nancy was taking the advice of the bi-partisan Iraq Study Group, doing the Pres. and Condi's job b/c they won't.

My mom got this letter in the mail from Medicare saying they were going to take her house because of the money from when my grandparents were using it. Both of them passed away last year, and the house was in both my mom's and my grandfathers names.........

Can they do this legally?

What can my mom do to stop this?

Any suggestions?

Thanks :)

Think about it, they surrendered without a fight, they did anything their Iranian captors told them to do, and they gave Iran a Propaganda Victory by giving in so easily. Why does Britain even bother to send troops to Iraq and into these waters if they have no backbones? It seems to me they would be better off following the likes of Germany or France and just give up, rather than half-heartedly showing a weak display of force in the Middle East. What do you think?

I wrote 2 letters on resignation for both my supervisor and HR giving a two weeks notice. I walk in to my supervisors office handed him the letter and then next to HR . five minutes later my supervior called me into th HR office and asked me to pack my things. I did not know why.

But turns out that i handed my supervisor a letter that i had wrote my ex-boyfriend.

He told my to leave immidiately, and to not return.

On the bottom of the letter it says your ex girl friend. but it was not addressed to anyone

Can i get fired on the spot for that. I have worked with this company for 11 months and 3 of those months i was a temp thru a temporary agency.

It was just a misunderstandin and now i will be out of two weeks pay. is there anything i can do to get those two weeks paid out to me.

When Cons use it it's to point out of those polled only 7% were liberal (as if that's accurate, I'm sure I'd want my liberalism out in a poll from Military Times) But then NEVER put the rest of the poll in context, maybe because it says

The American military — once a staunch supporter of President Bush and the Iraq war — has grown in creasingly pessimistic about chances for victory.

For the first time, more troops disapprove of the president’s han dling of the war than approve of it. Barely one-third of service members approve of the way the president is handling the war, ac cording to the 2006 Military Times Poll.

Hello, I'm a martial artist, and I recently moved up to Bellingham, WA, and I'm curious about whether or not I need a permit to carry/own my sword. I recently had to walk home from practice (my home is about 2 1/2 miles away), and I was keeping my weapon hidden the entire way home out of fear that I'd be arrested, or fined, or something of that nature if the police noticed. Do I need to obtain a permit to carry/own my sword? Do I need to register it as I would a firearm? Any help here would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Since everyone else can post "questions" that are not really questions, I might as well post mine. You may respond as you wish...

Now, I'm not one who's seduced by "conspiracy theories," but I found it extremely fascinating that ALL EIGHT OF THEM declined to press obscenity charges on cases that the DOJ was desperately running up a flagpole without success.

Now, why? — since we know these prosecutors are Republicans who would love to win a solid case— why would they frown on pursuing such charges?

Bush's DOJ Porno Task Force told the prosecutors to go after X-rated entertainment companies who make adult, consensual productions—grown-ups with contracts!

But those 8 justices weren't all that stupid, and they knew what happens in obscenity trials when you go after the 1st Amendment. They could paper the White House with case history.

My friend is discussing this with me...she is conservative...i'm liberal...she posted several quotes:

Abortion allows women to become like men, as in not get pregnant, not have children to care for. A woman is therefore exploited because she is forced/coerced into living in a man's world like a man. If true femininity (and feminism) were embraced, a woman would be considered an equal member of society no matter what her stage in life - single, pregnant, or mother. Abortion allows a woman to avoid pregnancy and motherhood instead of allowing the world to accept pregnant women and mothers. A perfect example is in the work place- many women are overlooked for new positions and advancements because of pregnancy or motherhood (you can find these stories almost everywhere). Instead of changing the world, we have fundamentally changed the woman, we are exploiting the non-mother side of all women. Ontop ofthat, women are exploited as sex objects because abortion allows men to not be "trapped"
