would it be acceptable for me, being an Independent, to say "S/he isn't my President" if a Democrat took office?

I've seen many "Bush Isn't My President" bumper stickers on many of the cars here (Seattle/Tacoma/Everett area).

What would happen if Hitler and Nazi Germany came through a hole in time and invade the U.S. in full force? Could they surprise us on the West Coast and take out our airbases and army bases with their outdated Luftwaffe? What if they seized them and used our own technology against us? What if they tried to convince racist Americans to join their force and fight against each other? Etc., etc....would they stand a chance given our military is over in Iraq/Afhghanistan?

It's about 40 degrees below the average seasonal temps here. My sister in Maine got 14 inches of global warming last week with more coming today. Maybe Al bought too many carbon credits from himself and we're now in a global warming deficit.

Recently Article 4 of the Constitution has received a great deal of attention because Hawaii and Vermont have considered making a marriage between partners of the same sex a legally recognized marriage. Because of Article 4, some legal experts say that all other states also must recognize same-sex couples, married in Hawaii or Vermont, as legally being married. Therefore, these couples would have the same rights and privileges as opposite-sex married couples. In response, many states have passed amendments to their state constitutions outlawing same-sex marriage.
Put yourself in the position of a person who must interpret the federal government's role in this conflict among the states. If the federal government rules Article 6 will override the state regulations. (Interpret the law, not your personal feelings about the outcome). Use the Internet and/or other references to research the issues if you feel you need more background

Many countries had blood laws ie many Catholic countries required any person holding ANY elective or political office to prove that they were pure Catholic for the previous 4 generations. I think that would be a good idea here in the US. We are not likely to take advantage of our own. What do you think?

In light of Obama's spectacular fund raising ablilities--and the fact that so many of her former supporters are defecting to Camp Obama--the Clinton's are resorting to their old inimidation tactics (like they ever stopped?) Terry McAuliffe reportedly warned some potential donors that Hillary would not forgive — or forget — those who did not support her now. He even asked one young woman how she expected to get appointed as the ambassador to France if she didn't give to Hillary. Sound familiar? Hillary's donors are complaining about the campaign's high pressure fundraising tactics. Could it be that milking them to fund her race for re-election to a Senate seat she would try to leave the minute the votes were counted was a bad idea?

I hear a lot of people saying how liberal and left-wing Colorado is. My guess is that is a BIG misconception. The state is reliably Republican in presidential races, has Senator Wayne Allard who was ranked the most conservative senator in DC, has Focus on the Family as well as other major evangelical organizations, is one of the most pro-life states around, has been called 'the hate state' for its fervent opposition to gay rights, and has always seemed conservative to me when I've visited.

I know there's Boulder and Aspen that are really liberal--but they are hardly representative of the entire state. If you go to the suburbs or any other city in Colorado I think you'll find a pretty family-values oriented culture.

But let me get your opinion--is Colorado really all that left-wing? And why?

Many people replied to conspiracies of 9/11 as being easily proven wrong by some logic and common sense which I've heard hundreds of times.

Question: Please prove that WTC Building 7 collapsed due to small fires, as is official government story, and not demolished, as it's owner Larry Silverstein declared on TV.

Please, I want tangible proof and real logic. If you feel like bullshitting, don't answer.

The Logan Act states, "Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both. The form of government wherein we elect representatives to make decisions for us may have worked fine back in the days when transportation and communications were limited - but that is no longer the case.
I think most people will agree that we can think and communcate quite well for ourselves.
What is a concern for us is that our elected representatives are not truly representing the will of the people. Instead they have too great a tendency to represent the will of the lobyists that are paid for by big business.
Our constitution directs that when tyranny and coruption become too great in our government it is our right and duty to take the country back and turn it back into the kind of nation that is a reflection of our greatest ideals.
And so the question is --- how can we begin the process of returning the true voting power of this nation back to the people. Too many national decisions are made that disregard the greater good of the country in favor of benefits for the rich.
