Is it their size? There use of covert action? What?
I am writing a paper and I could really use some quotes about what people think the problems are with the C.I.A. Not just, "I hate it blah blah blah its unkind to people" I am looking for specific reasons you do not like the CIA.
I'm asking as a person who is all FOR the CIA, but I want to know what others think.

Be sure to get the other side of the issue. Many people are very ignorant of how government works. My father worked for the Treasury Department and C.I.A. for many years and I was amazed at the silliness I heard from people that had nothing to do with reality.

Actually the CIA tried to stop the US from going to war with Iraq. They are pissed off at the administration for outing Valerie Plame.
If used properly the CIA is a vast wealth of information and operations. If used wrongly it can be a terrible force in international relations.

I don't like their previous loyalty to the Bush admin above their loyalty to the US citizens. They allowed the Bush admin to give false and cherry picked info to the world to justify invading Iraq.
In return for their loyalty in starting a war, CIA operative Valerie Plame's career was ruined by the VP.

i am sure that you have heard that the cia imports cocaine and other drugs. this is not a myth, it is true.
also, did you ever see JFK? if not, watch it, and you will start to get a picture of what kind of people they are.
George Bush Sr. was in the CIA, though he denies it.
i could go on and on, but i don't have time.

I personally have an issue with government in GENERAL... but I especially have a problem with an organization that basically gets carte blanche to do whatever it wants (or "deems" necessary) at a whim with NO checks and balances.

abuse of power
drug trafficking
disrespect for any and every authority
sacrificing their own men for experiments (check out MKULTRA & LSD)
misuse of power - they don't work in the interest of the US, but by their own greed for power - the two often coincide, but when they don't, the spooks simply break any law there is to satisfy their greed and make more money. Who is going to control all those poppy fields in Afghanistan, I wonder...

We taxpayers give them several billion a year, and they couldn't even get their intelligence correct in Iraq.
We demand this agency do their job the right way, and honestly, or it needs to be replaced.
