A recent poll asked people in 27 countries to rate the influence of other nations on the world. The U.S. has fallen sharply in world esteem over the past 3 years. Interestingly enough, the top 3 countries with the negative influence was ....
USA / Israel / Iran
The top 3 with the positive influence was....
Canada / Japan / France
Any thoughts as to why the USA has had such a sharp decline in 3 years?

The whole country will be eagerly watching the olympics. Wouldn't this be a great opportunity to inform a public that's denied a free press? Maybe we can athletes to get Tibet or Falun Gong tatoos or something:)

the deal is with it. He won't even communicate with me he intends to do it. He refuses to do call me. The secretary said all I can do is give him the message well I think there must be a way to get him to do does anyone have solution how to deal with this situation? Should I go down their and sit since where they know it me they put on the answer machine so they won't have to talk to me. You have to pay them upfront before they do anything? That the problem so does anyone have any ideas what would you do?

Once again the chickenhawks rear their ugly heads-Hannity-Limbaugh etc. all say the Brits were weak blah blah---ya know they could have went over and freed them by force LOL LOL-they don't understand how precious these kids were to their loved ones-most neo-con chickenhawks have never been in the military let alone closley related to anyone in the miltary.Those kids are home now bottom line.

I have a question preferably for someone from the State of Florida. I have been sworn police officer for 5 years, some of that experience I was a Detective and handled a variety of cases including homicides. I recently got into some serious trouble when my own police department showed up for a welfare check of my girlfriend. Can't go into details, but i ended up getting charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors, domestic violence. All charges are false and even my girlfriend is on my side. Have a good lawyer and will get everything dropped but could take a year or so. Basically the cops railroaded me becuz they wanted me gone from the PD. Ive never been in trouble before, never even been written up for anything. And I was a supervisor for the PD. I have no convictions and dont plan on getting one from this either. I know they do a background check with FDLE and FBI. Is it even worth my time to try and apply? Or will i get denied just because of the pending charges? help!

China refuses to allow the UN to intervene in Sudan and Myanmar where their governments are committing genocide against their own people. Not only do the block every attempt by the UN to even condemn such acts, they are giving them money and weapons to do it. If not for China's support, these dictatorships would have collapsed years ago from foreign sanctions. Instead people are systematically being raped and murdered. They're also propping up North Korea and the present disaster in Zimbabwe. Should we really reward such a country by giving the honor of holding the olympics?

(and this is no place for random complaints about the US. It's not expected to hold the olympics anytime soon and hence is irrelevant to the subject)

Okay, yesterday I went to an "America's Best Contacts" place... I am in a bind needing contacts and was only going there so I could get in out and on with my life. I got there at 12 (my appt was at 12:15) I sat there for an hour and was never seen. So I made another appointment for after work.
I came back at 4:30 and they got me in very quickly. While the lady was looking at my eyes she started yelling at me about some scarring near my cornea *the damage has been there for years* I tried to explain this to her and she yelled at me some more.
I was thinking to myself... okay, just put up with her ****, get your prescription and get out of here and you can do what you want! When I went to pay and check out she said "I'm writing you a glasses prescription" I was like... "What?!?! I have the same glasses prescription SITTING ON my FACE!" I walked out without paying~ I will not pay to be treated that way! I wanted what I wanted and she didn't give it to me is there anything they can do?

With Nancy Polosi ratting and raving, and traveling over to Iran when things are heating up, is she trying to be like a Jane Fonda during VietNam? Yes, I know she is a elected official and Fonda wasn't, but with all her actions it seems like she is trying to become more like Fonda during 'Nam.

Does anyone know if lasik is allowed before enlisting, and if not is there a certain amount of time you must wait? (I was reading over basic requirements to join the Navy and they said in some cases, if you had lasik eye surgery you were disqualified. Then I read that they let one guy in who had it because a certain amount of time had passed.)
