I don't think we are and I am not a "Liberal" I am a spit in your fascist face progressive! get it straight..

http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2005/07/b873695.html

the only Anti Americanism I see on here is that of the violence tinged "Neocon" rantings..
I have never once seen a liberal (hate that word) talk about firing squads, or hangings and stretched necks for the other side and yet .. just in the last hour or so I have seen several such slurs leveled at the "liberal" questioner or answerer..

so are you conservative or Liberal...

and for all you middle of the roaders.. you'll have to make choice in 2008 so don't bother diluting this question.. have some stones and take a stand on one side or the other.

I was evicted back in Feb. A judgment of $1662 was entered against me. I worked out an agreement with my landlord's lawyer where I could stay in the apt until the end of my lease, March 31st, as long as I made weekly payments of $200 towards the back rent. I made my payments as agreed & up to this point had paid $1200 & owed $462. It was also agreed that the last two months rent paid were to be applied to Feb & March's rent. The 2nd Sat in March the landlord left an invoice in my door where they were charging me for March + a late fee + a court filing fee. I moved out of the apt March 30th. The landlord claims I did $460 in damage to the apt & I still have an unpaid balance with them. So they took my security deposit & applied it to the damages (which they are entitled to do) & the unpaid balance & say I still owe them $164. So I’m confused, do I owe them $164 + $462? I should not have been charged for March at all and court costs were included in the judgment so what do I really owe?

How, exactly, will the ability of the FBI to read my email, listen to my phone conversations, and to break into my house to conduct stealth searches protect me from terrorism?

If, by giving up a little freedom and some of our rights, we can buy a little safety, as so many in government and the media keep telling us, does that mean that if we give up ALL our rights and freedoms, we'll be made completely safe?
If someone opens fire at a busy McDonalds, which would save more lives -- phoning the police quickly or a couple of armed customers?

If a deranged person, terrorist or not, decides to detonate a bomb where you happen to be, how will your having given up your freedom for safety save you?

The deficit is well under control, high paying jobs are flooding INTO the country, health care isn't even an issue anymore, social security is truley secure, our troops are home with their families, they have high approval raitings, no scandals.........what's not to love about them?

Right now im a 16 year old Sophomore who lives in South Carolina. I go to a private school with a good reputation and I get good grades(about 3.5 GPA) but I don't take any AP classes yet and im probably not in the top 40% of my class. I come from a military family and have a Dad that was in the Navy for 27 years and made the rank of Captain as a surgeon. I also have 20/20 eyesight which is necessary. I know that you have to get a letter from your state senator, but as of now how do I look for getting in?

honestly I am proud that the 15 british troops are back home, but I cant help but state that I am dissapointed in them. it did not take them long to give in to Tehrans wants and apoligize for something they didn t do. and then shaking hands with the enemy. I mean that is humiliating for the western powers. how can people be proud if their servicemen are so easily manipulated to do what the enemy wants them to do. I know for a fact if it were the U.S. troops they would not have given in, and would never shake hands with our enemy. It is dissapointing on how the british soldiers handled the situation. it is just humiliating for the west. my own personal opinion, I do not believe that those captured troops should be able to where those uniforms again. and the british military should start paying attention to their interrigation training for troops, hopeing this will never happen again. what are your thoughts on the topic?

If it *is* illegal, why has the UN taken no action against the United States. Furthermore, if the war is illegal, and the UN has taken zero action, what does this say about the relevance of the UN?

English rates first in Latino families

Commentary by Raul Reyes 2 hours, 17 minutes ago

When I was growing up, there was a subject around home that made everyone uncomfortable. My Aunt Lola used to call it the shame of our family. It was a dark secret that my relatives didn't like to talk about, although it affected many Mexican-American families just like ours. The source of this embarrassment was the fact that my brothers and I didn't speak Spanish. Worse, we didn't care about speaking Spanish.

My older brother's interest in Spanish began and ended with curse words. I only learned enough to get good grades in my high school courses, and my younger brother didn't learn it at all. To this day, I'm the only one who is proficient, not fluent, en espanol.

So supposedly, Bush wants Iraq to be a Democracy and that's why he's there. However, is a Democracy what these people need? A Democracy is pretty much the complete opposite of what those people have, and changing anyone to the extreme opposite usually doesn't work all too well. I propose that instead of trying to push Democracy on them, we teach them about Constitutional Monarchy. The people will have power, yes, but the government would play a larger role than it would in a Democracy. Or even a Theoligical Monarchy, where it will be based on their religion, which they're obviously highly into.

I do believe this war will end like Vietnam, and I think being over there is a waste of time. However, I think that if we're going to try to fix things over there, we might as well propose an idea that has a better chance of working than Democracy.

When she learns, will she be just as happy that she is engaging in "diplomacy" without the executive's consent, or will she be saddened to learn that she could be charged with a felony?

Also, I am less familiar with the specifics of the GOP members who also visited, but if their visit was an attempt to "influence that government's behavior on any 'disputes or controversies with the United States'", it would seem that they also could be charged.

Powers were divided between the three branches for a reason, regardless of which party holds Congress and which holds the Presidency. I think everyone should take a lesson from this.

BTW, this law has been standing for over 200 years.

GLOBAL WARMING LIARS; THE PROOF
by Michael Rush

It’s been recently established that ex-VP and ecological warrior Al Gore uses over 20 times the amount of energy than the average American consumes, thereby illuminating a copious magnitude of hypocrisy on a man who had freshly been honored with the best documentary feature Academy Award for the runaway hit that is his global warming-***-environmental treatise slash slideshow An Inconvienent Truth

My central problem with Al Gore’s particular brand of hypocrisy is the fact that he’s Al Gore: politician, celebrity, activist, and self-proclaimed internet architect. If he were just some guy spewing vomitous, mindless, unsolicited, insipid, and uninformed opinions in a blog on the internet that is rarely read by anyone (hmm… sounds sort of familiar), then his hypocrisies wouldn’t even register as a blip on my radar. But because he’s Al Gore (and not just any run-of-the-mill Al Gore mind you....
