She has consorted with an enemy state by offering her own alternative foreign policy of "We're sorry you hate us, America is wrong."

Ooh look at the liberal hypocracy rearing it's reactionary, ugly head as usual. Now the burden of your convictions has been placed squarely on your shoulders, but as usual you want no accountability.

I don't think she has committed treason, but she could be charged with a felony for her violation of the Logan Act.

one: you don't impeach congress members.
two: there are no official hostilities between the US and Syria at this time, except for GWB's refusal to talk with them and Iran.
three: she isn't the only one to have gone there in the last couple of weeks but I guess whereas the others were republicans they have immunity.
four: Congress members have visited with other heads of states for a couple of centuries now without needing the president's permission to do so.
There is one thing I'd appreciate though, I haven't been able to find any record of what was discussed during her visit. Since you quoted her I must assume you have read a transcript from that visit. If she made any comments about apologizing for America I'd like to know, I try to keep current with those in power. Please send me a link for it.

You can be sure that if the Speaker were unfamiliar with the law, the lawyers in the Speaker's Office and in the Democratic Party headquarters would have been. They would have researched the legality of this trip thoroughly before the Speaker even put it on her agenda.

Sometimes it's too embarrassing for a chief executive to make an about face on a policy so he'd let others (even members of the opposition) feel it out while he still pretends to object. Nixon vouched to maintain his strict anti-China, pro-Taiwan policies while at the same time, sending Kissinger secretly to Beijing to negotiate a rapprochement between the US and China.

Only those who are naive about the working of the American power structure would take Bush's objections to Pelosi's trip to Syria seriously. For all we know, Pelosi may be carrying Bush's message to Assad on helping out with Iraq.

This is for you Johnny 2 Times..

I'll actually post the Logan Act so that maybe your ignorant peers will be prompted to think for themselves.

§ 953. Private correspondence with foreign governments.

Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply himself, or his agent, to any foreign government, or the agents thereof, for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.

18 U.S.C. § 953 (2004).

There is one key phrase in this law that separates Pelosi from you John Boy; and that phrase is "without authority of the United States". It is basic constitutional knowledge that the Executive Branch (the President) has the responsibility of conducting foreign policy, but the Congress (especially the Speaker of the House-who is 3rd in line to the presidency by the way) has explicit 'oversight authority' over the President's foreign policy. It's called check & balances, remember? Only the Congress can declare War and the Senate has to approve any treaty made by the President.

Man, that was too easy..

She hasn't done anything that blatent.....she should get a reprimand for sure. To all that said anything about "Bush should be tried for treason", you need a reality check. Your blind, bigoted hatred of him is one of the stupidest and senseless sentiments I have ever seen. You don't have to go to Iraq and fight his war, my brothers and sisters in the military do, and his popularity in the military is much higher than it is in the civilian world. He may put us in danger, but he compensates us for it. Meanwhile, your liberal heroes are trying to cut funding to us so they can 'make a point' about getting out of Iraq. Stop following the media like little lemmings.

Sigh... I know how you feel. I've been asking this same question about our Idiot King for a couple years now.

I wouldn't call for anyone's death, of course, but I certainly want our dear Idiot King to be impeached and imprisoned before he has a chance to slip the country, to his 100,000 acre "ranch" in Paraguay. Once he's gone, he'll be harder to catch than that pig Binladen...

Additional Details...

You bots are funny. I've been demanding accountability for years, now, and all I've gotten is finger-pointing, flag-waving and the repeated non-sequitur of Bill Clinton (boo!).

You can't impeach anyone for having the bad taste and lack of backbone to wear a burka, oops black muslim scarf.

It does seem to me that if you couple that with her false or misleading statements, you get a picture of someone that is trying to do the politically expedient thing, rather than what's best for the country.

Some one aught to suggest that she spend more time in california, and change here fashion accessories. lmao. ( learning new concepts in women's wear )

Dude I'm Conservative and can't stomach her but thats isn't what she did. She was simply duped by the Israelis and made to look a fool. Her leadership skills suck and her advisers should have known better.
