I'm furious with the entire Congress that was in office after 9/11 that abdicated their responsibilities (except Barbara Lee, who didn't).
But conservatives and Republicans seem to have forgotten that until just a couple of months ago, Congress was Republican ruled, and it was they that rubber-stamped every wrong decision Bush asked of them (except Social Security, which even the right knew was political suicide).
The Dems are not responsible for most of the horror Bush has unleashed on this country or the world, Republicans were.
Yes, I'm p-oed at Pelosi for saying impeachment was off the table.
But if they can hold the Dictator -- uh, I mean DECIDER -- back, and especially if they can reverse some of the wrongs he's done, then that's better than nothing.
They are doing what they can in this regard. They don't have absolute power, nor do they have enough of a majority to override presidential vetoes.
More than anything, I want him and all his buddies to stand trial for Crimes Against Humanity.
That'll do.
What I don't get is why do so few Republicans on this site remember that the Democratic majority is only a few months old, and why do so few have even the least grasp of how our government is structured.

I believe the President is guilty of bad judgment, but I have not seen any evidence showing that he has committed an impeachable crime. The standard is "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" to impeach means to "file charges against the President" when charges are filed against the president (he is impeached) there is a public trial in the Senate where the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is the Trial Judge, if the President is found Guilty than removal from office is mandatory. In August 1974 President Nixon Resign just before he was about to be impeached; he knew that he was going to be found Guilty, he Obstructed Justice, he Obstructed the Investigation of Watergate, President Clinton did not resign when he was impeached, he new he was going to be found Not Guilty (he in fact was found not guilty) President Clinton knew that having an affair with a young intern was not a "High Crime and Misdemeanor". I also do not like Bush; but he has not committed any crime that would cause him to be found Guilty in a senate trial and even more so to be Impeached that is "Charge him with a Crime"

Even if they found something, it would take months to do something. Then Cheney would be president and then they would have to impeach him and that could take months and the elections are next year so instead of the news talking about the canidates, it would all be about the impeachments.

The Democrats have no backbone; the Repugs have no will. The USA public is fearful and ignorant, greedy and lemmings.
Watch all the USA thieves steal time and lives, murder the weak on the earth. More for the defense budget, more jobs for the soldiers and the suppliers of WMD.
No need to guess if the USA has them and uses them.

I don't know about guilt. THe thing is they are not impeaching him beause they want to drag it out as long as possible to generate hate for the Republican party. I am sick of the Nixon/Clinton game. They're both guilty, but it shouldn't be used to manipulate future votes.

Investigative hearings take time. The Repub led congress wall of silence coupled with the litany of perjurers and obstructors of justice have been able to stall justice until now.
