I have heard that if you use baby shampoo when you are washing up it helps with the eye pain (no more tears!). I didn't know about this when I was sprayed and I suffered for a good long time. Don't worry, it'll just feel like your eyes and face are on fire, but nothing worse then that. lol.

You'll survive to tell the tale, and I would bet my paycheque that you will vow to shoot anyone who takes your peper spray and points it at you in the future.

I decided to skip OC training and went straight to Taser training. Sometimes OC spray is not effective on a suspect. Usually it just enrages them and can inhibit you. I have never had a probelm with the Taser subduing a suspect.

The only trick I can think of is to be first in line. Sometimes the trainer will use an old bottle to finish it off. Hopefully the old bottle will be inert and not as effective, causing less pain.

Other than that, if you use water don't let it flow down your body. It will carry the OC to body parts you don't want touched!!

Try mixing baking soda and milk mixed together and using that to wipe your face. After the initial HELL get a rag with some ice to cool your face down.

PS After you get sprayed and youre gonna take a shower make sure you lean your head back when washing your hair. If you lean forward the OC in your hair will wash down into your face, and you'll get the full effect again

GOOD LUCK

The trainer will tell you the 'tricks' to dealing with OC spray. That is the main purpose of the training.

Its going to be fun, but the only advise to "assist" in getting that stuff off easier, is get some high uv protection sun screen and put a good layer (not too noticeable) on your face , and once you get hit, and once they allow you to wash up, then mostly (not all) will come off easier, but I am a firm believer that if you are going to carry OC spray, pepper spray, or a taser, then you need to know its full effects. Good luck,,,,

Yes, it will hurt. Yes, it will suck. But it's not the end of the world. My experience was that I couldn't open my eyes for about 20 minutes. Then again, our instructors didn't let us wash off with water so...

My only advice would be to take care when you get home. Just because it doesn't hurt anymore doesn't mean it's gone. When you get in the shower, the water will wash any leftover OC back into your eyes. So keep your eyes shut during the WHOLE shower, and try taking a cold one instead of hot water. It will feel better. Have fun, and don't sweat it. Like I said, it's not THAT bad!

I stood close to the door--when he started spraying I held my breath and out the door!--We were in a room--according to where you at when sprayed!--Still bad! But not as bad as getting hit with the electric shield!!

OC is a mind game. Take some no tears shampoo with you, as soon as you get hit "JUST DEAL WITH IT", it's not going to kill you just hurt like hell. Place your face in water then apply some shampoo to your face and "pat" not rub your face then rinse it out and pry your eyes open. The sooner you get your eyes open the better.

no, there are no tricks. the stuff will get into your lungs even without you breathing. and it will make you cry like a baby. it will make all the stuff in your sinus make a hasty retreat from your nose. but on the other hand once your back in fresh air it goes away pretty fast. it is design to incapacitate long enough for someone to take advantage of you. just go in like a man and stand there like a statue as long as you can. good luck.

your eyes will slam shut. you wont be able to control it. Hold one of you eyes open with your fingers, non gun hand. The more you blink the worse it is going to be. Try not to get a breath of it while being sprayed. Have fun and good luck.
