Hello, I'm a martial artist, and I recently moved up to Bellingham, WA, and I'm curious about whether or not I need a permit to carry/own my sword. I recently had to walk home from practice (my home is about 2 1/2 miles away), and I was keeping my weapon hidden the entire way home out of fear that I'd be arrested, or fined, or something of that nature if the police noticed. Do I need to obtain a permit to carry/own my sword? Do I need to register it as I would a firearm? Any help here would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Carrying it hidden would be considered a concealed weapon and could get you in a ton of trouble if caught. No permit is necessary however. My best suggestion would be to buy one of the many sword carrying bags available online and use that. That's what I have. They not only protect the weapon, but shouldn't be considered "concealed" either. Any competent law enforcement officer would realize that if you are a martial artist (perhaps carrying your gym bag with your gi) they would not mess with you.

I don't know Washington law. In most states, concealing any weapon will get you in MORE trouble than openly carrying the same weapon. I suggest contacting the local police and asking them. Regardless of what laws are on the books, the police know what is actually enforced.

there are not any regulations in any state that announces something about who you could date. Your mothers and fathers have authority to assert definite or no. There ARE regulations, if the babies are at the same time adversarial to the consent of the be sure, and there is sex in touch. notwithstanding.. in maximum states, there nonetheless is an age distinction that's in touch.. social gathering. a 16 365 days previous with a 23 365 days previous could be difficulty to a threat rape themes. An 18 365 days previous and 17 365 days previous does no longer be criminal.. and if the mothers and fathers consent to them relationship, then that's fairly criminal. for sure, I really must be the to blame adult and furnish you with a caution to no longer play with fireplace, you know the habitual. entering into something over your head and transforming into mothers and fathers too youthful isn't about legality, yet elementary experience.

Bellingham can be really a stickler about those types of things. Best idea would be to call up city hall. You can find the number in the McGregor book.

Any open bladed knife, or folding knife that is bigger than the palm of your hand is considered a concealed weapon. I would talk to someone at a gun store about any types of permits that can be purchased. But I dont think it is legal to carry it on you. Buy one for class and one for your home.
