For the same reason people who believe that Faux News is actually news and have real journalistic value. The reich wing noise machine do much much worse than damage than Imus ever could.
This is nothing compared to insults, to our nation and people , that you ditto headed Limbaugians, Bill O'Reiley, Glen Beck, conservative cheerleaders and the rest of the brain dead populis of the US allow to go on without outrage.
As for Air America Radio my fine feathered freek ^H^H^H^H^H friend, you must be listening to your right wing buddies at fox and not checking things out for yourself as most conservatives do.
Air America Radio has not and/or is not failing it's under new ownership. Purchased by the Green family (no not the Green party there's a difference). It's under chaper 11, restructuring. As most new companies refuge starting out.
We understand between your job at Walmart, Church, and picketing abortion clinics you don't have much time for the news. So keep listening to your windbag friends at fox news, turn on Limbaugh, Hannity, and the other gasbags in the car, it seems they really keep you and all good republicans well informed, provided it's something you want to hear and not necessarily the truth.

Hmmmm, it's ok for blacks to say nappy headed ho's...... Look at lyrics in songs from project pat to LL Cool J!!!!!!!!! Does Sharpton and the like want to cesor white people into having a more limited vocabulary that any white or other raced person? I gotta message for Mr. Sharpton and Mr. Jackson: Police your own communities language then go after other calling them racist! How many songs have the "N" word or other words that if a white person spoke the same the would be chastized? Think About it. Get over it.
Since when does equality mean one race has MORE rights than others?

Imus is weird. Always has been in my opinion.
CNN showed that clip of Imus, but harshly warned us of some very offensive language. I saw the clip and was waiting for the "language". All I heard I heard was "...Nappy hoes....".
Anyhow, I can step ouutside of my old apartment, at any given moment, and hear worse than that. Blacks calling blacks everything under the sun makes Imus look like an angel.

Imus is NOT a liberal. He's Independent. He supported Bush in the 2000 election, for crying out loud.
I, as a liberal, think Imus is foolish sometimes. Sometimes I can agree with him, but often is too conservative for me. That comment was completely pathetic & unacceptable.
And as far as MSNBC dropping him, well, that's MSNBC's choice, not your's or mice.

He should be let go. He possesses the typical liberal mindset and eventually their hate and venom almost always bleeds through..true colors are shown. This is the same pattern over and over again...i.e. Rosie and her "oriental" rant. Liberals are the true racists.
But given the double standards, I am not surprised in his "punishment".

I wonder how guys like him and Howard Stern have a job ... .. even before this comment. Some harsh words are funny ...... some sting ...... but as far as talk radio ... there are so many Howard Stern Wannabees and ... if you listen to that stuff everyday ... it really gets old and annoying. Oh well..... ratings sell commercial time so ..... I'm sure the station is guaging the fallout and if it cost them money ... he may walk ....
THink of the names you could add to the derelict list ..... Rosie Odonnell ....... Limbaugh .... Pat Robertson ..... Ann Coulter ..... it all gets old .....

There is outrage now. I guess it's slow in coming when the it's a liberal talking. They jump real quick when a conservative says something stupid.

I don't tend to get "outraged" by speech or language. But, that just me. Everyone at one time or another has said or done something they've ended up regretting. I say get over it and move on.
