When Cons use it it's to point out of those polled only 7% were liberal (as if that's accurate, I'm sure I'd want my liberalism out in a poll from Military Times) But then NEVER put the rest of the poll in context, maybe because it says

The American military — once a staunch supporter of President Bush and the Iraq war — has grown in creasingly pessimistic about chances for victory.

For the first time, more troops disapprove of the president’s han dling of the war than approve of it. Barely one-third of service members approve of the way the president is handling the war, ac cording to the 2006 Military Times Poll.

To anyone that thinks he is making this up about the troops, check the link below.

Traditionally the active military has always seen itself as conservative.

Besides the fact that only 34% of the troops approve of how Bush is handling in Iraq, it is more telling to me that there is an identical split over Iraq over the ideology of invading. 47% think it is part of the war on terror, 47% think it is a seperate military action.

If your troops don't think you are doing a good job and are not buying into what you are selling them, this is a recipe for disaster, we should have learned this lesson in Vietnam, but haven't.

Personally I want to see how the numbers for the president's approval changed in relation to how many tours or months of service they have completed in Iraq.

Why do liberals take Military Times Polls out of context and fact when they claim Military Times polls say the military doesnt support the war in Iraq?

Fact is... most military people are conservatives.. that is nothing new its been that way for years.. I dont know if its 7% or not but we know in general its the case.

Military Times isnt owned or operated by the military ...
the polls they have I dont take much stock in because they dont know who of their subscribers is in the military or not.

Edit = read the last part of what I said. Military Times has no way to know if their subscribers are even in the military at all. Yet their polls claim they are. How can you rely on that?

I'm not surprised. I once gave a YA neocon a requested link showing crime decreased exponentially during the Clinton years. The neo-con then pointed out a short, minute, down spike of crime in 2005. The did accounted for 2% of the total decrease over Clinton's presidency.

This should be brought out, but frankly, a lot of us are tired of ANYONE taking things out of context in ways decidedly designed to deceive.

We've had it with that kind of behavior, Conservative, Liberal, Republican, Democrat (my own party).

Cut it out! Including pretending that only "Republicans" do it!

It's silly and the only people who believe it are people desperate to keep their party identity over their patriotism.

Why do libs make up information? Its on both sides, but you know politics isn't based on logic anymore. You point a finger at someone and the person with the least finger pointing is golden.
