I'm just a young girl minding my own business. The new rules of random stop and search in subways and buses...is this necessary?

The subway has thousands of entrances that terrorists can get thru with no detection. Does Bush think manning only a handful of entrances is going to stop a terrorist?
Soon the govt will have the right to stop me anytime anywhere to seach my bag for NO APPARENT REASON. I was just WALKING for godsake! What is this..communist china?

General Pace,
I have to send you a word of encouragement that you might be able to stand firm in your convictions regarding homosexuality, particularly as it relates to our men and women in uniform.

Thank you! I am certain there are now people who seek to end your career after hearing of your bold stance. Thank you for being as courageous as any soldier in any battle to stand up and proclaim homosexuality for what it is, "immoral!"

May God guide you in this matter fully, holding you firm in your convictions. And as for the rest of us who believe in your proclamation, we will hold you up in our prayers.

Take courage and do not waiver your claim and I believe fully that the Lord God Almighty will reward your great sacrifice.

God bless you and keep you and your family in this time of great struggle.

Sincerely,

Why do gays have to be so over the top and flamboyant about their sexuality? The clown on here with the pornographic avatar is indicative of the gay community's obsession with being in your face. Perhaps if they worried more about becoming valuable members of society rather than wearing crotchless leather pants to pride parades, more people would take them seriously. I don't wear a t-shirt proclaiming the fact that I like girls, why do they feel I have some need to know their sexual orientation?

I just heard an interesting speech made by a Mr. Doug Rokke, Vietnam and Gulf war 1 veteran and the U.S. Armies expert on depleted uranium munitions. What he says he's dealing with and has dealt with is atrocious. If you go to this site you can download the Mp3 of his speech, and two other experts in the field. (Theres a transcript on this page, but its very poorly transcribed.) http://www.mindfully.org/Nucs/2003/Rokke-Depleted-Uranium-DU21apr03.htm
Please, read or listen to this information and give me your opinion here. It's mostly about the gulf war, but he connects at areas to the current one. Would you find this believeable and a just assessment of whats happened and is happening? Also, theres another website thats rather anti-military (I don't condone anti-us-militarism) but has some rather disturbing images where children have been affected by the depleted uranium we have left all over the cities and villages of Iraq. http://www.mindfully.org/Nucs/2003/DU-Baby2003.htm

General Pace does not have to live with gays. The important consideration is how members of the MILITARY who live and work with gays feel!

No apology from Gen. Pace for gay remark
March 13, 2007
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Pentagon's top general said Tuesday he should not have voiced his personal view that homosexuality is immoral and should have just stated his support for the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy in an interview that has drawn criticism from lawmakers and gay-rights groups. The written statement by Marine Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, did not apologize for his stance on homosexuality. In a newspaper interview Monday, Pace likened homosexual acts to adultery and said the military should not condone it by allowing gays to serve openly in the armed forces.

humm. Gen. Pace "likens homosexual acts to adultery.?" This begs the question as to what "adultery" is. (and no I am not a homosexual. This is a serious question)

if after quitting my job my employer is telling people I am "psycho", referring to me as being mentally unstable and telling other employees they are not to talk to me again?

I never did anything wrong. I simply did not like the job and quit but the owner was not happy. And no, I do not have any mental issues.

I find it very insulting that he is doing this and I would like to know if it is probable I could sue him for defamation and win.

I see all these liberals saying that we are in a recession or a depression or whatever and yet, we have like a 4.5% unemployment rate or something close to that. How can this be like the great depression? And I hear them say that the deficit is the highest in history, but of course that is true since we have a $13 trillion economy. If you take the deficit as a percentage of our GDP, then it isn't very high. Economic growth is high, inflation isn't any different than in the past, more people own their homes and are college grads than every before, so where is the disaster? I'm trying to figure out the liberal perspective on things, but I just don't see tons of homeless people and "going out of business" signs like I would in a normal depression. What am I missing here that makes me so much poorer than I realize?

I want some real structural engineers to answer this question. Over 40% of Americans believe that the Twin Towers were brought down by explosives. That's a big number. Are all those Americans nuts? On the morning of 9/11/01 my colleague was on the phone with her husband, a structural engineer. He said that he didn't think the Towers would come down, BUT, he did describe a scenario by which they might come down. He was wrong about them not falling, but was dead on about the manner by which they would fall. Isn't it possible that the fire really did bring down the towers? I'm not ready to accept that my government ACTIVELY murdered 3,000 people that morning (though I've already accepted that they might have done so PASSIVELY).

Just structural engineers. No conspiracy wackos.

I get it already...you think it's "cool" to be a liberal, even though you can't define it. You just hear the fringe on TV screaming about hating the war, W destrying the world, etc.

Nothing wrong with being young and passionate about issues, but stop pretending you even have a clue.
