Why are cons against abortion, against stem cell research but NOT against the way embryos are put into freezers and then, if they're not implanted into someone's uterus, they're just thrown away like garbage? Why is this not wrong?

All these efforts and we gave them democracy and they keep on fighting us and each other, making it difficult for me to buy gas for my V-8 SUV... How ungrateful!

When Napoleon was in Northern Africa, after he had first become a general, he ordered his troops to obey the laws of Islam. And while in Northern Africa they respected the laws and attended the mosques. Until one day when two soldiers chased a dissident into a mosque and disgraced it. See, back then it was not only a place of prayer, but think about it, it was probably the nicest place in town. That one incident caused the Muslims to rise up and drive Napoleon out of Africa.

The thing I am trying to say is that maybe if we learned more about Islam over here and started showing equal respect as a religion we would probably gain some respect from that part of the world and calm things down a bit. That and pulling the troops out.

Should we expect our politicians to ALWAYS know what the right thing to do is? Should we expect them to NEVER make mistakes? Imagine if you were held to this level of responsibility, how would you be perceived?

(questions like these usually end up with quite a few personally opinions. Instead of this, why not support the answers your give with events taken place... makes for better answers and less blah blah...)

Abstinence is proven to NOT work. Face it - kids are going to experiment. I'm not in favor of abortion as a form of birth control, but to take safe abortion off the table is pollyanna thinking at best.

What's wrong with educating our children to the consequences of their actions? You can provide sex ed without encouraging promiscuity. Seems like a lot of sticking your head in the sand and hoping it will go away.
