when will the new epassport be available,my old valid US passport has lot of wear and tear, i would like to get one re issued however i am not in the usa, what is necessary to get the new epassport issued thru the american consulate in china cost and paperwork thanks semper fi

you must go to the embassy in China in order to renew your passport ........
PASSPORTS :

US Passport :

Passport applications must be made in person at the American Citizen Services office of the Embassy between the hours of 8:30am -12:00pm, and 2:00pm - 4:00pm. New passports are generally issued within one week to ten days after application. Limited validity emergency passports may be issued in special circumstances. Map to Embassy>>



First Time Passport Issuance for Adults (aged 16 and older):
Proof of citizenship (eg. sealed birth certificate, consular report of birth abroad (Form FS-240), Certificate of Naturalization)
One photo identification card
Two recent 2x2" (5x5 cm) color photos with white background, see photo requirements
Complete form DS-11 (do not sign)
$97 USD (776 RMB) payment, accepted in cash or traveler's checks (RMB and Dollars)
Passport Renewal for Adults (aged 16 and older):
Submit current or expiring passport
Two recent 2x2" (5x5 cm) photos, see photo requirements
If your present passport was valid for 10 years, complete form DS-82. If your present passport was only valid for five years, complete form DS-11(do not sign)
$67 USD (536 RMB) payment, accepted in cash or traveler's checks (RMB and Dollars)
Adding Extra Pages to Your Passport:
Submit current passport
Submit current passport
Complete form DS-4085


Note:
1. The consular officer has the right to request additional information. Please do not sign applications until requested to do so.
