Yes the United States can bring about a reformed Iraq. We are the most powerful country in the world!
The question is does the American public have the necessary guts to pull through the tough times. Country building isn't easy. But, we can rebuild countries. Japan and West Germany are two of the biggest examples. Now Japan and Germany are some of the strongest economies in the world. We live in a culture of no patience. Give it time and let the military do what it needs to do unhindered by the cries of the ignorant.

Yes but it will require the upcoming summit to succeed. Iran and Syria have to really buy in to the idea that Iraq has its government in place. They will have to recognize it and respect it. After that they would probably support the MUSLIM state. They will do this because they want the US out of the region. Our presense although necessary in the short term, we all know is a destabilizing factor in the long run.

Yes. But the biggest problem to overcome in not in Iraq. If we could somehow mange to show some unity here at home, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished. The enemy has to be convinced that the only way to accomplish any of their goals is thru the political process no thru force of arms. They realize they cannot win a military victory against the U.S. unless we fold from within (which we are well on our way to doing) and withdraw our military prematurely. United we stand-divided we fall. Real simple.

Yes, they can. There is a democratically elected government, the people can vote for their leaders, the change is taking place. But it has a long way to go, and the violence is serving as a successful deterent.

No.
These are peoples whose death has no meaning to them.
Look at their history they have been at each others throats since the dawn of time.
It isn't a religious thing it is ethnic, Islam only condones it, to make it easier to kill .
There only Golden Times have been brought about by iron willed leaders, who have no qualms about killing those who went against them.
Look to your history books if you want details.
Try Alexander the Great.
The Romans.
The Persians
The Egyptians
The Assyrians
The Hittites
etc, etc, ad infinitum
