I am a preschool teacher in CA. My employer wants all the teachers to take CPR/first aid training. We did this 2 years ago, so I guess this is to renew it. Anyhow - this is an 8 hour course done on a saturday after completing a 40 hour work week, or over two evenings, 4 hours each, emidately after completing an 8 hour work day. Is this legal to require us to do this for free!? Shouldn't we not only be getting paid, but recieving overtime? And what about travel expenses if we have to drive further for this training? Does anyone know where I can find legal documention to prove my case? Thanks! I didn't question doing this for free last time (probably because I was a new hire), but I don't want to do it again!

My state of Illinois requires everyone to take daily P.E. in high school. Since I have to take P.E., I am not able to take more electives that interest me. So my problem is that I am stuck in gym doing absolutley nothing like everyone else in the class when I could be learning something. Also, since Illinois has one of the highest fat people populations this gym thing isn't even working, so why can't they just make it only a 1 or 2 year requirement? Are there any ways to get out of gym.

Are you paying attention to your leaders?
Do you know how and what they are voting on?
Is anyone aware of any recently passed bills, or laws?
And why does everyone insist upon insulting the others political party of choice?
I haven't seem one question that had to do with our elected official's votes, policies, or ethics. Any reason's?

Theres a time and place for it and most of the time it sux but do you think theres a difference between you having a problem and you having an issue? I personally feel that if someone says you have a problem that means it cant be fixed/solved and if its an issue it can be fixed/solved. How bout you? Do you hate political correctness? And what do you think about the difference between the meaning behind the words problem and issue?

WASHINGTON - The first of up to 20,000 additional U.S. troops will move into Iraq by month's end under President Bush's new war plan, a senior defense official said Tuesday. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pledged to hold a vote on the increase, which many Democrats oppose. Bush stated we must win in Iraq at all cost and if that means more troops die then that's the price America is willing to pay. Bush stated we will not lose on his watch.

Do you think that the United States would be better off if there were less people that only voted along party lines? I mean really is it possible to agree with your party 100% of the time, no one can be right all the time, its not statistically possible. I believe that to make good decisions and to have legitimate opinions we should educate our selves on both sides of the debate, if possible read the bill in question and vote on how we see it, not just vote for it cause our favorite politician or star is pushing it. Does anyone agree with me or am I alone in my opinion?

I'm hoping someone with some legal experience can help me. I got sick and had to go to the hosipital. I recieved a bill for about $780. I called and gave them my insurance info and they filed a claim for $1500.00. Is this normal for the hospital to tack on $800 because I have insurance? Would like some advice on what to do next, anything would help.

Why can't they just accept that they are wrong?

They are wrong on all fronts concerning immigration...but yet...all I hear from them is how "racist" and "bigoted" people are.

THey never rebute with facts. I could post facts all day long to support my position on illegal immigration....

The reason I ask this question is because I'm in my Sr. year of highschool, once I graduate I plan on becoming a cop, which is so far the most appealing career that I want to do. But the thing is I have long hair, I do my hair the same as Johnny Ramone. And I've never seen a male cop with long hair both around town or on TV. I'd really hate to cut my hair, since a lot of girls tend to like it.
