We can take close-up pictures of the planets, we've cured some
cancers, we stay in constant communications with cell-phones,
we have our music with us everywhere, we will soon be able to
watch tv on the go, dogmatic christians have exercised their
muscles politically for the first time, a renegade 'little cowboy' is now
president and firing off his six-shooters and riding his pinto roughshod
over every perceived villain on horseback, but do you
feel safer? Is the world a safer and more peaceful place?

I havent seen any polls or surverys of veterans opinions on our situation. Everybody has something to say, but it seems like nobody is asking those who have actually been there.

Do you think this war was justified? Where do you think we should go from here? What do you think our leaders could do to improve the situation?

Im am really only interested in opinions from people who have ACTUALLY BEEN TO Iraq or are from the countries involved in this war.

I am asking because I value the opinions of those who have seen the war first hand over spoiled politicians who sit in air conditioned offices pointing fingers at each other.

Also if anyone has any links to scientifically conducted polls/surveys of veterans, that would be helpful too.

thx respectfully

Social Security will be gone soon. Jobs are harder to find & does not pay to support a desent living due to corprate greed & outsourcing. Health care is on the rise & hard to afford. Everything is getting more & more expensive by the day such as gas, housing, food, ..etc. Is our country heading for a melt down & we will find ourselfs in a civil revolution & emigrating somewhere else or change into socialism ,as the best solution ?

And why is it that when technology has given us so many other forms of energy that the general public doesn't view the Bush family as murderers even though they continue to block advancements in this area for nothing more than personal gain?

Not every country has as gud an economy as US, UK, India, China, Brazil, etc. There are countries havin an absolutely pathetic economy. According to the countires, there are various reasons for that - some maybe good reasons, some bulsh*t.

But noin seems to be helping their cause. So who do u think is actually to blame for all this? The WTO and other international organizations for their inflexibility with respect to Third World Countries, or the US and its supposed "hostile" foreign policies or the less developed countries themselves?

It's not about giving an ex-convict a second chance. Rather, I' just trying to find out whether the government had passed any law regarding this matter? Or does his/her past record slims down the chances of him/her becoming an officer?

Watched a program on UKTV History last night called "Crafty Tricks of War". It was brilliant. They were all real inventions during and immediatelly after the Second World War. They have Pigeon Guided Missiles, Cartwheel bombs etc. I have heard about the Tailor dummies in Iraq. Anybody have any other hair-brained ideas from the military that either nearly made it or were scrapped.

SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE
I AM NOT WANTING A BL00DY DEBATE HERE.......

Lets face it the American people demanded change (especially in the Iraq situation) this past November. We expressed our desire to see our troops headed for home. So to me it is apparent that the Leadership before the election lost due to this War failures. Now Bush is sending more Troops....is this being done to try to show that the Democrates can't do any better? That even with a Democratic Congress Iraq still is a failure!

It appears that Bush just doesn't care what we the Americans think....he is pushing forward with his own agenda.

What do you think?
