USA itself, Non of the countries you mentioned can cause real danger to USA than USA itself.

All have some level of threat, Not directly to the USA but to its allies and of course the world economy. It may seem odd but Who is responsible for "Safety At Sea"? At one time it was the Brits today it is the USA. The US stamps off on ships safe for sea travel and Has to go after Pirates and Insure the worlds seas. In a similar stance securing the global economy is part of US concern. If N. Korea was to drop bombs into Japan the US must respond. Iran has the ability to strangle world oil supplies, Syria may attack Israel and Somalia Has made terrorist actions against safe shipping into the Middle east.

The US is. We have the most WMD's in the world as a whole. We have Invaded countries for the past few years that weren't in a direct conflict with us. We oppress the people of other countries by setting embargo's.
N Korea may have an itchy trigger finger but is not backed by China expesially after they set of a nuke in their back yard.
And think about it. Who in their right mind would launch an all out attack on us with nukes? We'd turn most countries into glass in a matter of minutes.

All these countries are playing their bit to kill the USA with 1000 cuts. By spending all their resources to combat the currant situations, it leaves minimal budget on future military spending. All the while, countries such as China, and Russia which are not as tied up in the conflict, have more money in investing in their military technology, and will soon rival and even surpass th US within the next 20 years.
