I just got issued 175 hrs of community service from court. My job and school really limit my time and its going to be too difficult to manage studying, work, and community service. Is there any way to change my community service to house arrest and how long is it projected to be? I just want to get it over with as soon as possible, any advice?

The questions and answers have been specious tonight. I've had fun bashing and crashing, but I see nothing in the way of serious political give and take.

First off, im american and my fiance is english. I tryed talking to people that could best give me answers to this but they seem to talk to terminology that makes it more confusing. Do i need some kind of resideancy to get married in europe to my fiance and does that make me a resident afterwords or do i still have to be deported back to the united states and go through a very long process of a few years so we can live together? Greatly appreciated if someone with firsthand knowledge could let me know.

I was recently at a party in toronto with underage drinking. The police showed up and took everyone's name down and said that he was doing something like 'caution cards'. Obviously my name is now in their system, but can prospective employers now see this? Does this remain there forever? He said it wasnt like a criminal record, but im scared that people can see this if they do a background check on me.

Thanks guys.

Why is he considered such a "great statesman"? Mandela, apart from having a likeable personality, has achieved next to nothing in his relatively short political career which saw South Africa rapidly decline to the status of the world's most violent and crime-ridden country, and his greatest friends have been communists and dictators like Fidel Castro, Moammar Qaddafi, Yasser Arafat and Saddam Hussein. His ex-wife Winnie Mandela, is a self-confessed advocate of terrorism and violence and has even committed murder.

He was himself originally incarcerated, not for his political views, but for involvement in 23 different acts of sabotage and conspiring to overthrow the government. He and his fellow conspirators of the ANC and the South African Communist Party were caught by the police while in the possession of 48,000 Soviet-made anti-personnel mines and 210,000 hand-grenades.
