I would have to say America. America has been too busy poking at other people business for many years, and now that people are actually fighting back, America realizes it doesn't have much to fight back with, and runs around like crazy all paranoid, thinking that by poking at people some more is going to get them out of the hole they already are in.

No question about it. Great Britain. Not the answer you were expecting, was it? Most people, when they think about paranoia, think about former Soviet republics, of Russia, of "rogue" nations. These are all good answers, but miss the heart of the question. Each of these countries, while certainly paranoid, are paranoid of only a few threats, and, in the case of soviet republics being paranoid of Russian influence, this is not paranoia, but necessity, as the kremlin-backed natural gas company gazprom threatened Georgia with cutoffs in supply, unless they acquiesed. No, this would seem to be rational fear, because Russia can and does represent a threat. Great Britain, however, is the most paranoid country by far, for several reasons.
1. The paranoia is beyond the government but in the people as well.
2. The paranoia extends to the people OF the country as well.
3. We can see just how paranoid GB is, because it is an open country to us.
Great Britain has a network known as the "ring of steel". Though this is only a small part of the paranoia, it has the best name. The ring of steel was initially set up to help stop the IRA from bombing, and to catch perpetrators. The ring is really just a bunch of cameras, and speed bumps that force anyone entering London by car to drive slowly enough that the cameras they have trained on all entry and exit points to the city are recorded. Beyond this, there are closed circuit cameras everywhere. "A YouGov poll published on December 4, 2006, indicated that 79% of those interviewed agreed that Britain has become a 'surveillance society". Indeed, nearly every town center is watched by remote camera, and many have been equipped with facial recognition technology. Many of these cameras also automatically track license plates and will pull up an alert if a car passing a camera is indicated to be part of a crime. Add the fact that many cameras now have microphones, and we can see major paranoia. Finally, not only are firearms strictly regulated, but pocket knives must be 3" or under, and have no locks. There has even been a proposed move to ban long kitchen knives with sharpened tips.
Paranoid indeed.

America. I'm an American but when you're a world power and every other countries are on your every move, it makes the political game more like a game of chess. our leader could either set themselves up for a great game or they could have many close calls before the next election term. my hats off to the congress, house, senate, and presidential parties for their constant job.

North Korea, Iran, Iraq and probably USA. Not necessarily in that order. Why? I would think it obvious.

North Korea and Venezuela. They're both obsessed with imaginary threats of US invasion.
