I just got issued 175 hrs of community service from court. My job and school really limit my time and its going to be too difficult to manage studying, work, and community service. Is there any way to change my community service to house arrest and how long is it projected to be? I just want to get it over with as soon as possible, any advice?

You will need to either contact your original lawyer and have them file a Petition for Modification or you can go to the county Clerk's office and file the petition yourself. The length of the house arrest can depend upon statutory limitations and what the judge deems an equal exchange for 175 of community service. Keep in mind that house arrest is not free and you will have to pay associated fees to participate in the program. In addition, there may be limitations on what kind of hours you may work (ie no midnights or work curfew at 10 PM) - it all depends upon what the program rules are in your county. This is something that you and your attorney should have discussed prior to sentencing.

Go to the court clerk, file a Motion to Amend Sentence. Have the clerk enter it on the motions docket. Take a copy to the prosecutor. If your court appointed attorney is still on the case give him a copy. It is a standard action, happens all the time.
The judge hearing the motion will probably amend the sentence. The prosecutor won't like it but then they don't even like themselves..

Yeah he's right get a lawyer...I have heard of getting it changed to a fine but not that. It's all up to the judge. And honestly I don't think he'll grant it .

Talk to the judge. But be careful what you wish for. Community service also allows you to come and go as you please. House arrest could be for.................ever when you can't come and go when you want.
