Anyone that spends much time here knows that I am a conservative, traditionalist, Republican American.

I enjoy a good debate and love to hear both sides of the isle comment, so long as it is fact based.

So, please explain to me why so many people are resorting to name calling, sending nasty hate fill emails and the likes just because you disagree with my opinion on your post.

You are only furthering my argument when your response is just venom. Even If I disagree with your opinion, I respect you as a person.

How about so of us grow up and debate the issues?

this is a hypothetical question - I do watch the BBC but would happily not do so if it meant not having to pay the license.

You choose which Sky channels you pay for so why do we have to pay for the BBC whether we want it or not? so the government can try and control what we watch as well as what we say, where we work, how much we eat, smoke, exercise, drink etc?!

Or does it now sound wrong?

And before someone says it; these men were still shot for being frightened. Ok, they *called* it 'not doing their duty'/desertion, but it was still being shot for being terrified. Just imagine doing it to women to see how vile it really is.

They both fight for their country. Because for a project I have to collect information from letter and diary entries from 3 union and 3 confederate soldiers and summarize during the Civil War. I found some really good entries from a colonel and wanted to know if a colonel qualifies as a "soldier".

Isn't that a function of the Judicial branch of government? And isn't there a "separation of powers" issue involved?

From what I've read, the police have the authority to arrest you and take you immediately before a magistrate, but they have no authority to issue a judicial "Notice to Appear".

I was pulled over the other day and hadn't yet paid my registration on my new car. It had been past the thirty one day paper plate period. Needless to say I got a ticket for no registration and was sent on my way. I got my car registered the next day. I was wondering if I could take my registration to the hearing and it be dismissed or should I just pay the $125 and be done with it?
