Robespierre - I totally disagree.
People might give their life out of love, a person is also capable of being WRONG.
I can imagine giving my life to save others, in some extreme situation, I did mention that suicide itself can be brave. It annoys ne that suicide bombers are given credit as 'brave' when they are simply wrong minded and servants. They could be right minded and servants if the cause was right.

Absolutely right Space Monkey.
But in peace time we disagree with our system, so much.

Good question.
I for one am a little fearful to try to understand what the thought process must be like for a suicide bomber. Is it desperation? Is it religious? Is it a truly personal act, or encouraged?
Just what the heck goes though the mind seconds before detonating yourself? I can only imagine trying to save my children in some sort of horrific event as a comparison.
I think it is a cowardly act to take your own life with the intent of taking others with you. Being brave happens at the moment of disaster, without thought to envisioning, or guaranteeing to family, the accolades or public honor of your actions.

While also being scared of them, I do respect them above non-suicidal murderers. At least when their deed is done, there is not a murderer out there / on the loose / in our midst.
It is impossible to sit in a cozy UK room and speculate about how many of them would have committed suicide anyway if they had to do it on their own.
But we must take in that these are desperate, fed up, frustrated people at their wits end. The accumulation of injustices done to them plus perceiced injustices done to others must be phenomenal, and we must be in awe. After all, even with the media and the politicians giving you only one-sided coverage, it is still hard to get someone to be so angry and so hopeless.
But rather then argue that suicide bombers should be respected, I argue that BOTH SIDES, the Jewish haves and the Palestinian have nots, must be given freedom, rights, a say, indeed a community they can call home. They need to forget the recent past completely and move on together, build friendship, and build one, two, three or however many sovereign, in-tact, unprecedently friendly countries.
Let us hope this can be achieved in our life times.

In particular we have encountered the rise of saucide bombing.in historic terms this development is new and unexpected.sauicide bombing has no traditional basis in islam as a technique,it was totally absent from the succesful afghan jihad against the soviet union.
since then sauside bombing has spread through the muslim world with astonishing speed on surprising course. The vocabulary of martyrdom and sacrifice, the formal videotaped preconfession of faith the technological linkering to increase deadlines all are now instantly recognizable to every muslim and as saucide bombing has penetrated islamic cultural consiosness, its list of targets has steadily expanded.first the target were american soldiers, then mostly israelis, including women and children.where the targets have included mosques and shrines and the infended victims have mostly shitte iraqis, overall the trend is definitively in the direction of muslim on muslim violence.By conservative accounting, more three times as many irqis have been killed by sauside bombings in the last three years as have israelis in the last ten.sauside bombing has become the archietype muslim violence not just to frightened westeners but also to muslim themselves.

I personally think dying by suicide bombing is cowardly in itself. It is not about having the guts or being credible. Those who take part in as well as those who successfully suicide bomb are all completely confused about what the Word of God tells them....my opinion.

you have got to admire the willpower or courage of these guys, knowingly going to there own deaths to help their cause or beliefs. I don't know as many of us would have that much belief in our religion or political leadership to make that sort of sacrifice for them.
Admitedly their attacks on civilians are dispicable and no one for any reason should kill innocent women or children, but for many of these groups it is the only way to strike back against an all powerful foe when they have little money and no hi tech arms.
How many haven't the guts to live?
I think all of them would like to live but are prepared to make their sacrifice to help their friends amd families however missguided that might be.

Like mass shooters. Look at the targets. If you really hated someone, what would you target. If you're going to die thinking you're some one man commando, it's the target that you took out that says what you are. We, took out Sadam. Look what that says about us.

They are incredibly stupid and brainwashed.
That said they may well be brave but just think how much more powerful their message would be if they only killed themselves and not others.

to them life is not important. for them the only important thing is serving god.
the jihad is written into the religion for the exact circumstance it is being used.
islamists don't like secular government. ( much like neo cons)
they consider the western style of government immoral and a threat to there culture so they will kill them selves to protect it, as it is written to do.
