Knowing nothing about you--sure!
The benefits are the structure and training they give you--you'll be a grown up before your college friends start thinking about growing up. Even though the pay isn't great, you won't starve and you'll be able to support a family.
Then again, if you have a mean independent streak, the army is not for you. If you are college material, you should go to college (if you decide to join the army later you'll be an officer). And if you don't think you could kill anyone or have people trying to kill you, don't sign up--the army may have a job for you, but you would clearly be in the wrong place.

What do you want to be? If you can go after college, or join a college program and become an officer, or just go after high school and get on the job training and get out after a few years and get a good job or get the GI bill to pay for college after the military.. With that said, look at all the services, they have similar jobs available, and others promote faster. Be smart about it and get as much info as possible for you to make the best decision for yourself.. I'm not in the army, but can tell you the military is very demanding at times, but also very rewarding, good luck to you with your decision..

Up to you..just keep in mind that the Army will pay for your college, should you decide to join. My husband is Navy, and he completed his bachelor's quite some time ago. I'd hate to think what that would cost us to pay the tuition on our own.

Do you want to die in that much of a hurry?? The country is at war. If you join, join the airforce, or a branch were you are less likely to see active combat.

My daughter did and she's now in Korea. She's having a great time while learning some skills and growing up.
It is a good idea. Don't let the war stories scare you. More people are killed in Washington DC that Iraq.
