Came very close when I was 17 ... my friend got into an argument that turned physical ... suddenly, he had three people attacking him, so me and another mate joined in (the first and only time I have ever hit someone in anger!). Police arrived mid-fight and tried to arrest all of us. I persuaded the officer he could not arrest me because I was a legal adviser to magistrates' (which I was). Seemed to scare him off and all of us got let off with an informal caution

Yep, 3 times.
Two were cases of mistaken identity (there's a guy running around with my same first & last name who's been very bad -- if I ever meet him he's in big trouble). The third was at a protest rally, sort of a sit-in. Charges were later dropped.

I've also been "detained" twice, for taking photographs (completely legally, but the over-zealous police didn't think I should be photographing bridges after 9/11 -- they're wrong, it's completely legal). Both times that happened I was given apologies by both police departments and district attorneys for their mistake.

:)

No, but thought I would be when the bank I worked for found out I was stealing from their customers (If I was given cash to deposit and the customer didn't know how much there I would make up a figure and credit my account with the difference when they had gone. Made loads.

Yes, on a false charge of 1st degree burglary. I didn't do it but in California, when they want revenue, they can make any charge stick.
