In the last pres election and this years mid terms, we saw a lot of evangelicals and neighborhood churches preaching a polital message. Does this violate the separation of church and state, and should the have their tax exempt status revoked?

On April 15, 1837, an impoverished Abraham Lincoln, 28, met Joshua Speed, 22, at his general store in Springfield, Illinois, and immediately agreed to share a bed with him in his living quarters above the store. They continued to share their bed for four years. They must have had a lot of interesting discussions because Joshua was the son of a plantation and slave owner. When Joshua told Abraham that he was returned to his native Kentucky, Abraham had a nervous breakdown. Abraham wrote at the time:

“I am now the most miserable man living. Whether I shall ever be better I can not tell; I awfully forbode I shall not. To remain as I am is impossible; I must die or be better, it appears to me.”

They remained friends throughout life. Abraham penned passionate letters to Joshua Speed, which he signed “yours forever,” a phrase he never wrote to his wife.

Hmm.....

I personally believe that nobody deserves to die for their crimes. Not Hitler, , not Stalin, not Bin Laden, nobody. I know this is a hotly debated topic, but I just wanted to see how many responses would come in for one side or the other, and if any new arguements would pop up. Oh, and if your going to say something retarded like "only for those terrorist loving liberals" or "only for Bush and his cronies" don't bother answering, nobody takes you seriously anyways.

I have a situation I need advice on. I'm in the Army and getting out in a year. I have a chance to come back to the desert and make six figures a year or go to college and gain a degree. There is also one more opportunity i am not too sure of which involves me staying in the army "which I am not to fond of" and going to work at the White House. So any advice i could get from someone would be much appreciated.

Thank You,
Mike Jones

As the majority of the country are the ones being affected most by this oath, should they not decide the case? America is known for allowing INDIVIDUALIST freedoms, as much as possible, but
the representation of We The People is another matter, entirely.
The God of this country is a Judeo-Christian one, historically,
even though we have had Deists, Atheists, and others in office.
As the South (and many Northern Conservatives) found out during the Civil War, THE VOTE can change the founding fathers
view of the Constitution into a meaningless States Rights argument.
Yet, THE VOTE keeps it that way, to this day. So why should the majority have to bend to any minority opinion if they don't have THE VOTE? WE THE PEOPLE are not any more willing to give up our majority culture than any other nations are willing to part with their's. Why should we? We speak English. We
are Anglicized. Christianized. Civilized. Mr. Goode speaks for
a majority. Are we ashamed of our culture? Absolutely not

Here's a comment:

"Apparently, nothing focuses this man like failure. He seemed energized by the gigantic mess he's made, and eager to make the mess worse.

There's clearly something psychological at work here. He's spent his life trying to talk himself out of bad situations of his own making, so maybe this has put him in a comfort zone. He finally has the conflict in Iraq on his own terms, which means it is all screwed up. He seemed defiant and almost happy as he sparred with the reporters about this fiasco. The war isn't wearing him down - he seemed invigorated and joyfully alive. ..."

Why do some people still support this man?
