is this a just punishment?

if a crime is committed, wouldyou rather take whipping on the back, no shirt, or be sent to spend time in jail? i want your thoughts, comments, if you agree with it, how many lashes would be appropriate, how you think the punishment would go, where should the guy or girl be hit, what kind of whip, attire when whipped, etc, etc. ALOT of details will get you the best answer. thanks

Well in Biblical times, the Romans administered 40 lashes as the ultimate punishment, because no one could live through it.

With all lashes administered to the back, regardless of gender, with some type of open backed garment on, I suppose.

Here is the punishment structure that I would mete out:

Petty Theft - One Lash (whip-cracking sound effect here)
Vandalism - Two Lashes
Grand Theft (first offense) - Three Lashes
Grand Theft - Five Lashes
Grand Theft Auto - Five Lashes
Armed Robbery - Ten Lashes
Assault with a Deadly Weapon - Fifteen Lashes
Rape - 35 Lashes
Murder - Forty Lashes
That ought to reduce the prison population nicely!

hmmm depends if i commited a crime and had a choice i would probaly choose the lashing instead spending days in jail i just get some lashes on my back and call it a day and ooo some nifty scars to show off to everyone but then again i could make some tight friends in jail i wouldnt have to cook either other people cook for you in jail and i love that musty concrete smell if it was someone else it depends on what they did if was something awful then i would want them to rott in jail sitting around in jail sounds worse to me then just get lashed on the back but if it was something petty i would have the person whipped infact i would do the whipping i would wear attire like the wicked witch from the wizard of ozz with some green makeup while the crimnal to be punished would wear a short french maid style dorthy outfit ^_^ EHEHEHE ILL GET YOU MY PRETTY AND YOUR LIL DOG TOO

Why do you want a lot of details? Enough to be a sexual turn-on?

When a judge is sentencing a prisoner, it would be a very interesting experiment to offer the prisoner the "whip him and get it over with" alternative. But the problem is, too many people (possibly including yourself?) would find the whipping stimulating rather than punishing, and so it would encourage rather than deter crime.

Possibly a judge should offer the alternatives, but actually sentence the person to whichever they did NOT choose! Would only work until the word got around, of course.

I think they should spend time in Jail what happens if someone was raped? After they got whipped they would go and do it again evey crime has its punishment and whipping shouldnt be used not one bit in this worl but i know they do stuff like that over seas

I hope he gets away. Sorry. There will be many whistle blowers coming forward. More every day because this administration has over stepped its bounds at every level in every agency. Some have described this as a bureaucratic coup to take over the government. At this point, I tend to agree with that. I see this administration as being engaged in treason against American citizens..
