How long will it be before the government legalizes marijuana?

I'm 19. It'll happen in my lifetime.
But it can't happen soon enough!!!!!!

Until we as a nation move beyond the idea of a nanny-state protecting us from ourselves, we will never have legal recreational cannabis. The fact that cannabis will grow damn near anywhere(hence the moniker "weed") just complicates taxation issues, so they'd rather keep it illegal than fight for their profit share. Besides, the CIA is running cocaine and heroin into the US, and has been doing so for years. Look up Iran-Contra, google "Clinton Mena cocaine".
Sid: breeding prettier looking plants for bigger buds and higher THC content does NOT make them more dangerous. Granted, higher THC content means a single bowl of high-grade cannabis will probably affect the user more than the equivalent dose of say, Mexican ditch schwag, but cannabis intoxication isn't going to make one get behind the wheel of a car, or play with guns, no matter how many times those government "PSAs" run on TV.

The oil companies will never let it happen they want to wipe the plant from the face of the earth ! You see it is able to be used to make a very high quality stable plastic that is more recyclable and cheaper to manufacture than oil based this along with alternative fuels like methanol which they forced congress to put a drinking tax on ( even though it would kill you immediately ) would nearly put them out of business !

The goverment will not legalize pot states will probadly over time look the other way at potheads, and the cops will just go thru the motions of enforcement so they get govt funds; Otherwise, pot leglization will occur when the population gets sick of paying taxes to jail potheads been toking and working for the last 30 years. Pot should be legal for the reason that goverment will never have drug free, or vice free country, ban pot they sell on the black market. Ban MMs they sell it on the black market, ban doritos it will still be made in the blackmarket. Soical engineering is ran amok, and tort reform is needed.

Probably never. growers keep improving the strains thus making it more dangerous and impossible to keep up with the health issues
