I never stopped a taxi...but stopped plenty of commuter and airport vans. Mostly for expired registrations.

I like your question and I never see the cop gives any taxi a ticket. I think the taxi is trying to make his or her living and sometimes he or she get muggy too. In my state one taxi got shot from the robbers and the man dead.

Because the police dept. oversees the taxi commission. These guys would stop their own mother to meet their quota. And they know a taxi driver will not slip them a 20.

I have stopped plenty of taxis in my time; usually because of the passengers, though. Most cab drivers are people working a second job, trying to make ends meet.

My brother is a cabbie and he has gotten cited while driving in the cab, mostly for speeding.....just a couple weeks ago, 57 in a 35 at 5:30 in the morning.

all the time in Atlatna, there is even special officers who do nothing but check on the taxi drivers and thier license.
