If you're guilty, then suck it up and take responsibility for your actions and plead guilty. If you're innocent, then plead innocent. Simple as that.

I urge you to go to court and present your case to the judge first before you plead your case and the judge will ask you to plead guilty or not guilty. I was in the same situation like you and I did not go to court except paid my fee and attend the 8 hours of traffic school.The instructor urged me to go back to present my case to the judge and drop the class. I did not and now I encourage you to try. I felt so unhappy because, all my classmates had worst driver records and broken the laws. My case is nothing at all. Why do I have to torture myself in the worst environment and bad people? I was not thinking and forgot how to fight. I let the fear control my thought. So You have a choice to present your case before you plead and if the policeman or woman does not show up in court then you off the hook. How about that? Good luck and make sure You dress appropriate, address the judge " Your Honor " and do not miss behave in court. I am sure the law is already on your side.

We can all relate, I am sure we have all done this (or something similarly stupid in our day). The bottom line here is did you do it? If you did, you need to take responsibility and pay the fine - 90% of the time judges will reduce fines and points off your license. The other shoe is you really don't want to lie under oath - we call that perjury and you get into a lot worse penalities for that. That whole mandatory jail time thing could really ruin your weekend.
