Is there active duty in the National Guard? I'm still trying to decide which I should join. NG, Army, Navy. I'm just not sure yet. Can any of you give your point of views on them all. Why one is better than the other. And so forth. Thanks alot. God Bless.

that our government be ruled by people other than those that sell their legislation to the highest bidding corporate entities to the detriment of the people ?

People in the 1960's cared and fought hard for civil rights. I think if we cared more about the massive problems within our government, that we would be much more likely to see some change for the better instead of the worse. I think we as the masses are largely responsible for many of the problems, and that we need to account for them, and to become proactive rather than regressive. I think Hitler (or on of the ranking Nazi's) said something to the tune of, 'Thank God for the politicians that the masses are stupid', and lately, it seems that he was sadly correct.

Knowing the public's reservation about JFK's Roman Catholic affiliation and now a Muslim elected in MN.

Why the concern? Wasn't one of the principles this country was founded on religious freedom?

If your argument is that Muslims are radical, save it. We Christians have our own - McVeigh, Kaczinski, John Brown, Lee Harvey Oswald, etc.

"I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it"

"We follow orders or people die. Its that simple"

"You're damn right I issued that code red!"

I've heard this question asked by conservatives about perceived liberal stances towards Bush. It goes something like, "How come them liberals think Bush is so stupid, but also masterminded 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, [insert bad event here]."

Yet, I also see the same attitude about liberals from conservatives. Somehow we are both stupid, misinformed idiots, but also evil, anti-American geniuses who control the media and the public school system and who are working to take this country down from the inside.

We are also, apparently, certifiably insane.

How do we manage all this, and still find time for a latte at Starbucks?

When the notion came up about some Iraq soldiers being in the military to get training and weapons and later fight against the USA the people were outraged. That would never happen how could you say that. It is not unheard of to have a spy. I was just wondering if I was the only one who thought that was a possissibility? Is there anyone else out there who thinks that could be a possissibility?

Our company had an office Christmas party, which they made mandatory for all employees to attend. This included an anonymous gift exchange, where we were required to bring a small gift of roughly $10 value. Despite informing my supervisor that I'd rather not attend, I was told that I would have to, so I might as well enjoy myself.

I went down to the local adult toy store and bought one of those anal plugs. I wrapped it up and brought it to the gift exchange party. As luck would have it, my supervisor was the one that received the anal plug, and he was none to happy about it. Now he's threatening to find the person responsible and fire them.

Can he legally do this? If it turns out that I do get fired over this, can I sue since I was forced into attending a party that I would've preferred not to attend?

Economic immigrants from the old soviet states have flooded this country at an unprecedented rate in the last year. There has been lilttle uproar as they are generally immigrants in search of work and not to bleed the country of resources. However, with the next ex soviet satellite states ready to join the E.U should we be prepared for another wave of hard working folks or should we coil up the drawbridge and block economic immigrants and source jobs for our ageing population and also those facing redundancy when the multinational companies etc close down and move away?

i think each drill instructor plays a certain "role". there is always, from talking to other former marines, one junior DI that loves to give recruits hell. looks like his main job is to be very sadistic. the other junior DI is, he can also be pure terror also but he teaches alot of marine corps knowledge. and for the senior DI, he is more like the father figure. he still can scream and holla at times but he mostly plays the father role and at least once or twice, he nonchalantly told one of the juniors to lighten up. my question is to all former marines, does this pattern sounds familiar during their boot camp?
