How can liberals be both stupid AND insidiously taking over American culture?

I've heard this question asked by conservatives about perceived liberal stances towards Bush. It goes something like, "How come them liberals think Bush is so stupid, but also masterminded 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, [insert bad event here]."

Yet, I also see the same attitude about liberals from conservatives. Somehow we are both stupid, misinformed idiots, but also evil, anti-American geniuses who control the media and the public school system and who are working to take this country down from the inside.

We are also, apparently, certifiably insane.

How do we manage all this, and still find time for a latte at Starbucks?

Ask an intelligent question if you truly want an intelligent answer. Unfortunately, this "Politics" area has become just another insult-a-fest. How long do you think Yahoo will let this crap go on?

I think that you have the whole situation wrong on several counts:

1.) I don't believe for a moment that you're taking over American Culture. If nothing else, the last two Presidential elections proved that. The media is 95% liberal and exists on the two coasts, in generally the same areas as the liberals. The Heartland is far from liberal and growing every day. You liberals continually underestimate the heartland and then wander around in a daze behind the little animals whenever the more centrist voters in Middle America hand you your heads in an election.

2.) I don't believe that liberals are so much stupid as delusional. You always want to blame America for what's wrong with the world. You don't seem to get it that the rest of the world puts their own interests first and the global population second. You want us to do just the opposite and all that will do is weaken us to the point where we can no longer defend ourselves.

The best example of this is the refusal to allow security people at airports to profile for trouble. You'd rather have them strip-searching my 85 year old Granny than a Muslim man between 18 and 35 when every one of the 9/11 hijackers fit exactly the same profile. That is stupid on a whole lot of levels.

You also make light of the efforts of the Dept. of Homeland Security in regards to the cells they've broken up, like in Miami or Lackawanna, NY. Here's a clue, what would it have taken for that bunch in Miami to have gone over the causeway to Miami Beach and walked into a Synagog with automatic weapons? WAKE UP! There's bad guys out there.

3.) Have all the Starbucks you want. A liberal is the only one I know whose dumb enough to pay $3.00 for a stinking cup of coffee at Starbucks that's worth about $.10, when you can get a better cup at 7-11 for $.69, and then you complain that the working population of this country isn't giving up enough of their hard-earned cash to support the lazy idiots who refuse to work to feed and clothe themselves.

You are certifiably insane. Get some help.

Well, in the first place I wouldn't waste my money on anything with the Starbucks name attached. It is over priced and anyone willing to waste their money on their products is just foolish in my opinion.

It isn't a matter of taking it over. It is a matter of the Liberal philosophy is a bad influence on our youth and the youth are soaking it up. This is nothing new. What is new is there are far fewer young adults who can or will think for themselves enough to realize that the path they are being led down only "works" until they have to become adults responsible for their own upkeep.

Many many many of our youth of today are in for a rude awakening.

The conservatives need to know that we are a Liberal Democracy and the reason why the events of 9/11 and Katrina are laid at his feet, is one, no one with a credible brain can accept that Terrorist x 19 can fly planes x4 into some of the most sensitive areas in America without the tacit knowledge of the government.

Can you image the superhuman flying skills of the pilots who had to glide a 747 at over 400 miles/hr into the ground floor of the Pentagon building without crashing into all the obstacles in their way. Even the most diligent and skilled airforce pilots have said it is impossible, let alone the highly practiced and skilled airline pilots that fly those things everyday.

So your dad started a useful employer and then exceeded it to you? you certainly mentioned exceeded it over to you, no longer "I worked extremely frustrating for it." You first worked once you have been 17? Your first job substitute into once you have been a senior in intense college? that's certainly style of pathetic. i'm specific many human beings your age had jobs whilst they have been 14 or 15, with out having Daddy to fall lower back on. and you communicate approximately an entitlement way of existence? You have been (by using your individual accord) exceeded your individual employer. you apart from would understand the middle type in all possibility represents a majority of your employer? in the event that they starve, you starve. i won't be able to wait until Darwin's concept weeds your genetics out.

It's simple Most people in this country have the common sense of a grape. If it is shiny they will buy it. If someone in a suit tells them it is true they will believe it. Just look at the commercials and movies on T.V. today. They appear to be aimed at someone with a low I.Q......Very Low.....: )

Well, I'm sure you can do the math. So I don't think it is some big conspiracy. Just a natural result of our population continuing to become less informed and less educated.

The good news is that ignorance and lack of education can be fixed. All you have to do is put forth the effort to educate yourself and you can cure yourself of liberalism.

When people are suddenly swamped with truths and facts that are contrary to their self-proclaimed beliefs,the first reaction is often to slash back with unkind words,or some other form of childish action... thus the "name calling"(some people grow out of it,others never do..)

They believe the ludicrous stuff that they believe, because they WANT to believe it. They WANT to be fooled and suspend their disbelief for causes that sound nice.
