Knowing the public's reservation about JFK's Roman Catholic affiliation and now a Muslim elected in MN.

Why the concern? Wasn't one of the principles this country was founded on religious freedom?

If your argument is that Muslims are radical, save it. We Christians have our own - McVeigh, Kaczinski, John Brown, Lee Harvey Oswald, etc.

Christianity seems like the state religion but those folks are warring with each other internally. It's like it's an insult to call a Methodist a Southern Baptist. The only time Christians stick together is when a Catholic, Muslim, Jew, et cetera that doesn't practice similarly comes along. Then they freak out and claim that other religions are dangerous to American society.

It's their blind and sometimes ignorant faith that will collapse America from the insides as men with big, powerful guns sit outside.

Catholics ARE Christians, for one. So, the premise, with Kennedy, is confusing. Did you mean to ask if "Protestant Christianity" the state religion?

I don't remember McVeigh, Kaczinski, or Oswald being overtly religious, but I don't recall the issue with them at all. Could it be that you are stereotyping them based on their race? Profiling, we might say?

There is a concerted effort by RADICAL Islamist (not most Muslims) to kill anyone who is not the exact same brand of Islam that they practice.

To your question. . . The USA was founded on principles based Christianity, however, the founders did not want a "state" church. Say what you will about Christianity in the US, but we are FAR more tolerant of other religions than other religions are of us. We are also much more tolerant of NON-RELIGION, than many non-religious people are, of us. Who is always trying to censor who?

Men are voted into office. So the majority of the people vote them in. Most people in the USA are white, protestant, Christian people. So it would be difficult for anyone other than that to get elected. He is a Governor not a president. He maybe the best for the job, but given the news about muslims when the people figure it out he hasn't gotten a chance. Maybe in Iraq? He would be great.

"If your argument is that Muslims are radical, save it. We Christians have our own - McVeigh, Kaczinski, John Brown, Lee Harvey Oswald, etc."

Except the above lunatics you mentioned did not act out of Christian principles. And even if they did, to compare 4 men with the hundreds of thousands of Muslims who think murdering innocent is "sometimes" a legitimate thing to do is absurd.

I do not know of any state that has named christianity as the religiion of the state.
The Americas were founded by groups of people wishing to have freedom of religion. They have the christian principles as their example and the christian values were written into the constitution.
These values have worked well for generations and if anyone is wishing to become a member they should at least show respect for our forefathers and the work they put into making the Americas one of the best countries in the world.
If newcomers are not willing to show respect for these values they should find it impossible to come here. To show respect for the values they are choosing to live under is a small price to pay for the freedom we enjoy.

The concept of religious freedom is one which came from Christianity.

No other nation in the world, with a predominant religion, other than Christianity, enjoys the freedoms we do.

Our response is based on the liberal attack on our Institution. Nothing more, nothing less.
