Dropped kerbs, also known as dropped crossings are areas of the pavement which are lowered and strengthend in order to let vehicles access driveways and make it easier for disabled people to step up kerbs.

Obviously, it is inconsiderate to block one but is it illegal? My daughter's flat is accessed by one such crossing but it is almost always blocked by vehicles and I can't get access in my wheelchair. The police refuse to do anything about it saying that another person in the flats has given someone permission to park there!!! can that possilby be correct?

Hi, hope someone can help. I am quite interested in the Spanish Civil War but have not formally studied it. I just can't understand why the allies took out Mussolini and Hitler but not Franco (who was helped by Hitler). Was it because Franco kept Spain out of the war, because the allies were war weary or was there some sort of deal? Or were the US afraid that Spain would go communist?

Hamas and Fatah terrorists continue to shoot, shell and kidnap each other, making mincemeat out of a declared ceasefire. Four deaths were reported by Tuesday afternoon. IDF sources: no civil war.

At least one unidentified Gaza Arab was killed Tuesday morning, when Palestinian Authority militiamen from the two competing factions waged a gun battle near the Shiba Hospital in Gaza City. Several people found themselves trapped inside a nearby mosque for fear of getting shot in the crossfire.

By later in the day, two more men - members of Fatah - had been killed, shortly after being kidnaped. Their bodies were found in the street. Hamas denied involvement.

The clashes involved the elite forces of PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah and the well-trained and well-equipped Hamas terrorist militia. IDF sources said on Monday that several Hamas fighters are being trained in Iran.

I'm trying to find out in an unoffical poll how many officers have ever had to use deadly force vs those that have not. If you have, what was the situation and how did you deal with it?

As someone who has been an engineer in the business before, let me give you a quick run down on why gas prices are so high/low (people seem to complain about both)

Gas prices are low in this country because we provide a large steady market free from the over government taxation that you see in most European countries. The fact that we pay much less for gas than European countries was a pre-existing condition to the war in Iraq.

Now for all the libs complaining that the gas prices are too high. This is primarily due to the evironmental movement that also happens to be run by your side of the fence. Oil companies aren't shutting down refineries to increase revenue, they have to sometimes because they are so old they have to completely stop production to fix them. They can't build new ones because of environmental laws. So what can they do? What would you have them do?

Most energy problems start and end with liberal propaganda.

I think they should. I think the test for citizenship should only be given in English. Look at southern Florida and southern California. If you go to many places in these areas you have to speak Spanish to function. These immigrants show no respect to the customs and history of those of us in the USA. If people of their country had done the work and made the sacrifices to make their country better in the past like Americans have then their country’s would not be such s**t holes. They now want to come here but want to keep their culture. Well, that culture has lead to their countries being such poverty and crime ridden places that they need to move. They should at least have enough respect for a superior people and culture to try to fit into our ways.

Notice how it always looks worse when other country's commit atrocities against there citizens in war times, when the U.S had our own atrocities against it's citizens in the civil war? Who knows where we be today as a country if another country decided to get involved in the civil war?

I asked a question before about war and terrorism being one in the same, and even though I received many answers stating that war and terrorism are two different things, when they broke either thing down and defined the words respectively the same definitions applied to both words.

My outcome is that terrorist events are acts of war, whether directed at civilians or the military, pleanty of civilians are going to get murdered. This is what war is all about and this is what terrorism is all about.

Terrorism is the same exact thing as being on the offensive during acts of war.

The war that was billed "The War To End All Wars" could have been called "The war to end all terrorism," or "The terrorist act that will end all wars."

Are not the two words completely interchangable?

I believe he has exemplified the Christian characteristics of judging others without much thought, refusal to listen to other points of view, ignoring the facts at all cost. I walked into the local police headquarters and asked for a copy of all of the pages in my file that make up the police report filed by arresting officers. I was given just a portion and I was told that I was not allowed to have the rest of the report. The part that I did get was helpful to me but incomplete. Is it true that I am not entitled to get the other portion. How could it be fair to my trial.

think about it...95% of Americans wouldnt even know what to do in a situation like that. my guess is the only people that would survive are hillbillies/rednecks and of course the rich politicians....but most of us would be killed due to never having to deal with war in our own backyards...we have lived way to sheltered (not that, thats a bad thing) but if poo ever hit the fan here, and the enemy reached our soil (say the chinese army) most of us wouldnt make it...

I read somewhere that a scholar in military studies said that "The disposition of territory acquired under the principle of conquest must be conducted according the laws of war." I think that this is a very important quote, and I would like to get more information about the details involved.

In the simplest terms, apparently, the meaning of this sentence is that territory acquired by conquest will be under "military occupation" which at some point will be followed by a "peace settlement." If there is a cession of territory, there must be a formal "peace treaty."

It is pretty clear that this concept rules out "conquest followed by outright annexation" of territory.

So, I would like to get more information about this entire matter, including authoritative references, additional information, additional points of view, explanations, etc. I believe that this falls in the realm of military studies.
