in Europe we don't like idiots

2006-12-19 04:03:00 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 9 5

If Bush is hated in Europe, it is because he is the head of the U.S.A., and the U.S.A. is hated all over the world, not just Europe.

What would you think of a person, who was always bragging about himself, and always denigrating others. What would you think of a person, who went around flashing his wealth in front of poor people, what would you think of someone, that if he didn't like another weaker person, that he arbritarily beat them up. what would you think of a person that wants to trade, but always changes the rules so he gets the better deal, because he is bigger and stronger...well people...this person has a name "AMERICA"

It is not that the rest of the world is Jealous, although there is some of that...It is just that living with a schoolyard bully, is not much fun..and that is why the world hates America

How individual, nice , intelligent people can morph into a bully society is the question I ponder

I think it is partly because it appears that he only became president by subterfuge when the Florida debacle made a mockery of vote counting. We don't grasp the idea of 'electoral colleges' over hear - we have the niaive view that the person with the most votes should win the election.

Also, it has become fashionable to a) riducule Bush, and b) hate him because he hasn't got the slick, greasy demeanour of say a Clinton or a Kennedy. Personally I find someone who speaks (mostly) his mind and sometimes makes mistakes refreshing.

I feel he's the only guy who really knows his own motives, so I'm not sure its for any of us to discuss them. HOWEVER, from this viewpoint it is impossible to see that he has done anything other than destablise and endanger the world, with the most catastrophic results.
Yes, Saddam Hussein was a scumbag, but I don't see America going to war with teh other savage leaders that litter the world, often with our tacit support. We are now living with a world which is vastly more dangerous than it was a few years ago, its clearly getting worse and I don't think anyone can see a way out.
Oh yes, and don't fall into the trap of blaming the victims of the bombs and bullets, any more than you shoudl expect them to love you.

(Mr) Abu' answer is indicative of why the reasoning people of Europe look on in disbelief at the way that America portrays itself to the world at large - and as a National Statesman Mr Bush is frankly very far from the benchmark.

Who gives a shi*, what people in Europe think. If I gave a crap I'd move there. We live in the greatest country in the world, that is why they hate him so much. Its called jealousy!

George is wracked with guilt cause he wimped out on Vet Nam. He feels so guilty he actually "hates" himself. He is trying to punish himself for his own cowardice in his youth. It's classic Psych 101 text book. He is the sort of man who feels that God punished him with daughters rather than a son.

Lack of self identity with what America does. They don't really see his actions as defending the world. In fact they probably see all the suffering and chaos he creates and understand that the world is much less safe for them and many more time volitile in the middle east.

He doesn't suck up like Clinton did, and he makes them look bad by their timidness in dealing with threats (that will take down Europe before the USA--that European comment about it's better to be raped than killed resisting, don't get any applause here).

people in Europe don't hate America, they just think they are cool and controversial by saying they do.
