Is it possible to get history of local telephone calls made & received?

I am in India .Having BSNL connection. I want to have the records of the local call sent and received by me on a particular day about 2 years back. I was told that I can not get the list of local calls made from land line. But my friend says he got it by paying. Is it possible to get those records even by paying to the department?

Yes. Trust me, they have them. I don't know what it will take to get them though. Maybe persistence and some cash.........
