Do people even realize that there are very rich Mexican nationals-- lots of them? The 3rd richest man in the world is Mexican (Carlos "Slim" Helu)?

If Mexico’s rich were doing more to provide jobs for their fellow citizens, who could begrudge them their wealth? I wouldn’t.
Here is my American strategy. What if the U.S. got control of its borders, deported illegal aliens, refused to give amnesty, eliminated the Anchor Baby loophole, and expelled any Mexican diplomats who meddled in U.S. immigration policy?
What if we drastically reduced legal immigration, and made it clear by our policies that this era of mass immigration is over?
There would be a lot of shouting and whining. But in the end, Mexico would have to accept it. Then Mexicans would start paying more attention to their fellow citizens who are billionaires and millionaires. With the U.S. safety valve shut off, Mexico’s masses might start to pressure the government confiscate the wealth of Mexico’s rich…or just take

Does anyone actually believe that in all of that destruction, a passport belonging to one of the hijackers was found!!?? This just cracks me up. Also, when the Yankee pitcher slammed into the building in NYC, they claimed to find his passport on the ground too! I believe this was a clear lie, meant to lend plausability to the first passport lie. How some of you can still believe the official version of 911 is beyond me. Is it simply because you are too afraid to face reality? Are you genetically 'hard-wired' to believe authority no matter how absurd it is?!

After further analysis I arrived at the conclusion that in life we all have to make compromises because we can't keep everyone happy 100% of the time. I cannot have things my way every time because there is always going to be someone else who wants it their way. That's when cooperation and compromise come into play to at least keep everyone happy 50%. For example on a lot of issues I think I'm in the middle. On Abortion: Keep it legal, but restrict late term abortions. On gun control: people should have the right to self defense but ban semi and fully automatic machine guns because those are for killing not self defense. What do you think about this matter? Am I right?

Compare the number of causalities, fatalities, money, and material of past wars compared to the Iraq war and tell me how the US is losing.

Compare the number of deaths in Iraq in a year to those of just a couple of major US cities and tell me how the US is losing in Iraq.

Please define for me what is losing to those who think we are doing so, and those who do not can just comment on why they think their way.

This doesn't make any sense to me: A Georgia man gave the middle finger to a judge who sentenced him to life in prison plus 40 years for the shooting death of a Savannah debutante during a botched robbery. What's the point of giving 40 extra years? Does life in prison mean a certain amount of years or does it mean he stays in prison until he dies and the 40 extra years is just a 'f*ck you' addition to the sentence?

We have an enormous trade defecit, primarily fueled by our automobiles.
We are fighting terrorists funded with oil money.
We cannot locally drill our way to energy independence.
Our military is fighting in a nation no one would care about if not for the oil underneath it.
We know independence is possible (just look at the transformation in Brazil over the last decade)

So, why aren't we making any true national effort to become energy independent?

History lesson number 1... John F. Kennedy was a Democrat.

History lesson number 2... John F. Kennedy was the president that started sending Army "advisors" aka Special Forces into Viet Nam

History lesson number 3... we had no exit strategy

History lesson number 4... we pulled out without winning the war

History lesson number 5... 50,000 Americans died for basically nothing.

History lesson number 6... Kennedy almost got us into a nuclear war with the Soviet Union making a stand with the Cuban missle crisis.

So the Democrats are not so pure afterall.

I was arrested about three weeks ago for a felony. I applied for a job this past Friday, and I just went to court today (Monday). I haven't been convicted yet or been able to enter a plea. What exactly will show up on my background check at this point?

This country is doing pretty well, but I am afraid that if we get a Democrat elected for President in 2008, we will flee from the Middle East and leave ourselves open to further terrorist attacks.

For the safety of our nation, I would like to ask my congressman to propose an amendment to the constitution allowing a President to run for more than 2 terms. I know this used to not be a law, but it needs to change, and fast.

How hard would it be to get a constitutional amendment on ANYTHING passed?

George W. has kept us safe for 5 years, I say we let him continue until 2012.

FOUR MORE YEARS! FOUR MORE YEARS!

My Husband has been In IRAQ since April 2 of this year, and he got home about two weeks ago a TOTALLY different person!!! I'll admit, things on my end were different too, I had a first baby In July and I started my internship at a teaching hospital, but he's just so............strange. I the middle of the night, If I go to kiss him while he's sleeping, He jumps and starts freaking out. He won't even play with our daughter and says that he doesn't want to be alont with her. He seems REALLY withdrawn and distant from me, He's so quiet. His best friend (Who's my big brother) came over to take him out the other day, and my bro told me that he just set in the corner all night. He won't talk to me..........about anything, and all I want to do is help. I want to throught my arms around him and tell him that everythings gonna be OK...... but I just can't do it. I miss the man I married, He won't tell me anything, He leaves back out on Jan 4 and I want to know if anybody else has been through

Where do the ethical standards for the media originate? In the 'anything goes' depravity of ancient Rome? It is not known if this man has done anything wrong but he will be fired and his life ruined already. The world will see him as guilty.

Nevermind the whole Murtha incident... .. ..which her own party REBUKED her for.. .. . . . How about appointing Reyes as the HEAD of the 'Select Intelligence Committee' ??
How can anyone defend that 'decision' ? The HEAD of the committee.. ... .......the one who's supposed to know more than any of the others ?? He couldn't DEFINE nor DESCRIBE 'HEZBOLLAH'.. .... . . . and he 'guessed' wrong, when he guessed that our #1 enemy, Al Queda, was a foundationally Shiite organization !! And you think he's the ritght man for the job ?!?! Or are you an 'honest liberal', and can admit that neither Nancy Pelosi nor Reyes are qualified for their positions ????

recently, the government created a new test that immigrants had to pass in order to become citizens. While I agree a test is necessary, some of the questions you have to answer to be American are kind of ridiculous.

One of the questions was who wrote the Federalist papers. Now I know the answer only because I'm a junior in high school and I just finished taking US history, but I bet the average American doesn't know the answer.

Is knowing American history what makes you American now? Because I am pretty sure many Americans don't know our country's history. What do you think?
