The Articles of Confederation was the revolutionary-era attempt at creating a national government. The Confederation Congress was designed to be fairly powerless because why have a revolution against tyrannical central government (and the patriots beleived that all-powerful governments were naturally tyrannical) and then turn around and create exactly that.

The Confederation Congress was criticized for not being powerful enough to guide the nation and thus the Constitution was designed to fix the supposed "problems" of the Confederation by making the government more powerful.

Ok. this ones for general dabate... When all we hear is spin-doctored lies from politico's, journalists and corporations...while our homes become fortresses and our hearts harden to lumps of lead... while the tax's go up and the cities breakdown...while the planet dies and the power industry raked in record returns...

The question remains... whats the blasted point of anything anymore when NO-ONE in authority gives a damn and the public is for the most part too thick to care or understand!

Ps... No, god will not save us!
pps... dont give me any "who asked u pinko!" g.o.p garbage
ppps... this is a political/enviromental issue and not a soap box for bi-partizan sniping

When it comes to science and deciphering a law, the average person is not too bright. Why not "require" law students serve on a jury. There are plenty of law students. Or make a profession out of it, that way when billy joe bob sues because his coffee was too cold, the professionals know better. The cost can just get tagged onto the lawyer fees.

Please give me links, or whatever and don't give me Whitewater, I know about that already and they were cleared of any wrongdoing...then Starr continued on with the Clinton witchhunt w/ the Lewinsky scandal...I want something different than that please...thanks in advance for clearing up my ignorance.

Who of you 'care' about what the most corrupt organization in the world thinks ??

Do you 'care' about what the idiot neighbors down the strret THINK ?
Do you 'care' about what rapists think ?

Do you 'care' about the 'opinions' of anyone who is wrong ???
Is this that whole 'touchy' and feely' thing all over again ? Talk with your idiot enemies and try to 'understand' their feelings ???

While I know that the ethical thing to do is to return the money and let them know... I noticed the error when I was opening a new bank account and transfered the money in there. I realize I should check balances more often but really did not notice it until I was moving funds. However-- while I will most likely let them know-- wondering what possible problems are if I cannot return all up front as I see that I used a portion that would affect rent, bills, christmas season, etc if I had to move it back now. Wondering-- these kinds of things have payment plans OR what about just keeping it as the old account is closed now anyways and I need no references from them. I informed them verbally and in writing at my time of departure and-- what's weird-- is that they sent me the smaller holiday/vacation time check and, apparently, kept on sending me payroll.

Even though it is ethical to return it all-- as the monopoly card reads-- are there "bank errors in people's favor?".

Read the answers to this question and notice how the primary response was "Bush isn't qualified so Democrats don't have to be either."

Does anyone else see a logical fallacy in this arguement?

Never mind that the original question had absolutely nothing to do with Bush.

North Korea can have all the atom bombs that it wants as strategic deterrent. It may be tempted to sell to terrorists, and terrorists may destroy one or two western cities in the worst case scenario. If they do, North Korea will be destroyed.

Sometimes, reverse psychology is the best step forward. Perhaps it's time to tell the North Koreans "Go ahead, do whatever you want, we won't be blackmailed by providing you with aid or lifting economic sanctions against your repressive regime. But bear in mind you will face complete and utter annihilation if you paddle your atomic bomb technology or hardware itself to other rogue nations or terrorist organisations. There will be presumption of guilt."

Don't have to negotiate further, don't have to give them anything. Let them self implode. They will be more than willing to negotiate then. Like USSR, they will be beaten by spending on bombs, economic collapse and effective propaganda aimed at the population.

Any thoughts?
