When all we hear is spin-doctored lies from politico's, journalists and corporations...while our homes become fortresses and our hearts harden to lumps of lead... while the tax's go up and the cities breakdown...while the planet dies and the power industry raked in record returns...
The question remains... whats the blasted point of anything anymore when NO-ONE in authority gives a damn and the public is for the most part too thick to care or understand!

Q. when all democratic avenues are choked up by paid lobbysts and all politicians have wads of cash in their jacket pockets from industry and the international press seem incapable of printing anything of substance...
What are the sane minority to do to retain hope and a clear focus for the future? Am i a cynical fool or a derided voice ?

I really think that people need to become more involved in politics. I know sooooo many people who just don't care. I think that if more people would be involved in the process we might even get away from just a two party system. It always seems businesses do more for their customers when there is a lot of competition, perhaps political parties would be the same.

a virus released to kill billions is in order .people dont care about others.especially the other creatures so we need to be culled back in our numbers.people just wont what they can get.the earth is being destroyed by human parisites.No, God will not save us. only our souls.I am so sorry to hear of the Baiji Yangtze dolphins in China being declared extinct the other day.the Japanese still kill the whales and dolphins.The pollution is killing millions of people very year and no one seems to even notice. the animals or hurting. no place to live. the minoritys or killing each other . black on black murder is horrible..something must be done.people should have the Spirit of God in there lifes, but most dont. they just have religion which is not enough.half our taxes go to the military and the rest is mostly wasted. and given to other countrys when it s supposed to be used to help the American people.this could be a great society if the taxes would go to us and not them.Its all politics and greed and control by special enterests.we the people could change things but no. we can hardly take time to vote. the herd needs to be culled back. were killing the planet. people need to stop having so many babys.especcially if there poor.animals should have rights also.I hav sudjested two laws be changed. and they were put thru by a State legislator.do something about what your concerned about.I give money to homeless people.collect for charitys. write letters to the editor.have marched in protests in Washington D.C.and much more, one person sometimes can make a difference.Peace.

The point is that life is cyclic, and it is only a matter of time before the sanity comes back up to breathe, and a few more idiots drown. so If you just give up, you are no better than the spin doctors whom you berate here, for if you are not part of the solution, then your part of the problem. The point is that what is left is worth saving from all those idiots, so get up of your a**e and start giving the s**t back, and vote the corrupt little liars out of office.

Your view on reality sucks. It's also nothing new.
Ordinary citizens have been asking questions like this since Hammurabi. It's called coming of age.
I hate to tell you, but this is about when most people get married, start a family, and stay too busy with immediate concerns for the global ones.
It's worked for centuries. You stay active in politics, and you continue to do the next thing.
And, I would encourage you to not totally give up on God.

If you don't want this to be a soap box for partisan sniping, why is your "question" so full of partisan sniping? My home is not a fortress, whatever that is supposed to mean. BTW, lead is a very soft metal.

for most people until it happens in their back yard they will not care and by then it will be too late. governments who ever they are will have to make a law to change things like they did with lead in petrol and then maybe people will change their life styles to adapt to this problem
