The tenet from ancient Rome is that ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking it. How does this square with the current American legal system? How do we reconcile this principle with the huge pile of statutes and regulations already on the books? With the federal government producing a 200-300 page book of additional rules and regulations every workday (Federal Register, Code of Federal Regulations)? With the states all doing the same kind of thing?

A tragic figure of enormous proportions? Perhaps ( turning my brain off and giving him the benefit of the doubt) he did mean well in Iraq. But look at the results/reality. Both for him historically, his minions (our military) and his kingdom (the USA).

How will this story end?

Un-happy ever after?

It's my understanding a defendant is entitled to a speedy trial, however my son is being brought to justice 2and a half years after being accused even though he ha been available for trial. In other words it wasn't as though the police didn't know where he was the lax on bringing him in, is this grounds for dismissal?
