No, why ought to they. The Brits must be happy with the royals. The customs, pom and condition and traditions linked with the monarchy are steeped in history. I , as an American envy this. additionally, the monarch brings in thousands and thousands of vacationer funds each and each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days from sightseers seeing castles, museums to which the royals donate paintings and artifacts, and seeing the changing of the preserve. So, long stay the Queen and each and all of the generations that stick to her.

Speaking as a colonist, I believe the Monarchy serves an important ceremonial functions, freeing up politicians to do their jobs. The Monach in the UK serves the same role as does the Vice President in the US. Plus it supports countless thousands of journalists.

Um, I thought the monarchy effectively became abolished a long time ago. You know, that thing they have in the UK called Parliament and the Prime Minister?
If the Brits want to keep their royalty, so be it. They tend to be benevolent (although Charles is pretty stupid) and are modern day celebrities with no real power.

I definitely think they should be abolished. It is incredible that they have lasted this long, but enough is enough.
They have no real power anymore, they are obscenely rich because of a title, they drain people's money and mean very little to most ordinary people.
In my eyes they do nothing positive for the country, and it's about time we let the ghosts of a long lost past lay to rest. The monarchy, even when it was power full, did very little to change the conditions of the ordinary people. It's an aristocratic, conservative, hereditary load of sh*t that needs to be abolished. Soon.

I think it is the funniest thing ever, I mean, what's this idolisation of normal people? So, their ancestors were Kings and Queens, we now live in a war infested world, what a joke. Then again, maybe it is a crutch, a fantasy tale for followers to hold onto under the circumstances.

I don't get it, but if it works for the British populace, then it's their choice to keep the royal family ... or to run them out of town.
