Not only do I think it is wrong to keep illegals from medical school, but I also think it is wrong to keep them from any kind of school. If they can manage to get the money to pay for their education, I don't see anything wrong in letting them study. I think it is better to have them studying, specially the young ones, instead of leaving them out there with too much free time which would lead them to join gangs. I'm not proposing bringing gang members into schools, but keeping young boys and girls from joining gangs. Another benefit is that once they have a degree if they go back to their countries, they have much more opportunities to get a good paying job. This would take away their need to come back illegally to support their families.

They already go to our public universities tuition free, live in student housing FREE, get work study without paying taxes, PLUS get grants.while I on the other hand am up to my eyeballs in student loan debt, and have to work part time while in school AND pay taxes..Then they get welfare while in college..Why not send them to med school free at $150,000 year..We have doctors that work here where I live that are foreign and can barely understand English..little on speak it..they have no earthly idea even what the He--they are doing..I don't know how they finished med school. I would love to go to med school but I can't afford it. I am 1 year from getting a bachelors..it will never happen because I can't afford it and can't get enough aid to do it...so sure why not give them anything they want...

Why is the discussion of illegal immigrants so casual and how naive are people who persistently ask questions like this?? Law breakers are law breakers. Period. They should be imprisoned until returned to their country of origin. In a country with entitlements like ours, you have to control immigration. In the birth of our country, we welcomed immigrants because we needed their labor, they needed work, there was balance, and if you didn't work- you didn't eat. Today we have unemployment so we don't need the immigrants, and a disturbing amount of immigrants sneak into our country to get on our welfare roles and don't work a day. When's the last time you saw overwhelming numbers of doctors, engineers, business owners and the like sneaking into the country?? We are flooded with unskilled men and women. We don't need them and can't afford to feed them and their anchor babies. (And don't buy into that "they do the work we don't want to. BS!! They do the only work they can. Remember? They aren't doctors, engineers, etc. Yeah, yeah, I know the Indian, Iraqi, Chinese, and Pakistani immigrants are often highly educated. I'm not talking about them. And they typically come in legally.) It's not our responsibility to fix Mexico's economy or corruption. And it's not our responsibility to take in Mexico's refugees, or Haiti's, Somalia's, Cuba's, etc. Stay home and fix your s**t!

I don't think it's wrong to keep illegal immigrants (oops, sorry "undocumented immigrants") from doing anything. THEY SHOULDN'T BE HERE! Keep them from medical school, keep them from high school, keep them from working, keep them from being here at all. Deport each and every last one of them and let them go about entering our country the right way. Then they can have access to all of the things we have to offer as a free and equal American citizen

If they're in this country (or any country, for that matter) illegally, they certainly shouldn't be able to use our facilities free-of-charge to better themselves. I have a hard time with the "world owes me a living" attitude of many people now.

No-they likely would be depriving a citizen a spot in a college that is very competitive, with limited access, so why reward someone who isn't following the rules and punish someone who is.
