I was watching the Dixie Chicks on Oprah yesterday and heard their story of being threatened with death and being lambasted by fellow Americans for having the audacity to express their personal opinion.
It would seem that Freedom of Speech is ok as long as you keep it to yourself.
This is reminiscent of Stalin's Russia.
In Oz and in Europe it is quite appropriate to criticise the country's leader.
"John Howard, you are a bloody idiot". There, that feels a lot better.
We knock our pollies all the time.
All this rhetoric about freedom and democracy. What was that quote by Voltaire? Something about although disagreeing with a person's opinion he would fight for them to have the right to say it.

"Patriotism" is a double edged sword it seems.

1st Dec:
Tom overheard Jerry toking to Don that his dog is missing. Jerry is prepared to place advert, offering $7000. Tom spreads word ard on rewards. Micky found the dog but did not know about the reward. He decides to keep the dog.
1 wk later:
Jerry places advert with reward of $7000. Tom does not see the advert n he runs into Micky n recognises the dog. Tom calls Jerry on hp claiming he found the dog.

Jerry writes a check of $500 for Tom but Tom is unhappy n insist on reward amt. Micky is upset that he is the actual person who found the dog so he shd be paid the reward instead.
Jerry loses temper, snatched the dog, tore the chq n walked away.

Pls advise parties.

I heard it takes a lot of time and it would bring him one more year here in germany, which we dont want.Is there any way we could skip that?Could I get the status of forces stamp just by being married to him?Has anybody else been in that position?I called the Auslanderbehorde but the lady didn't know.I would like to know what is the exact process.

Alright for my persuasive speech I'm trying to think of a way to explain how to fix the way in which people are monitored for illegal downloading of music off the internet. There are many cases of people who were sued for having shared files that arent theres. Anybody remember the grandma that got sued from her grandson downloading songs on her computer?

As a native Floridian it is a tragedy to see what has become of Miami.

In light of the disasters which were caused in only one term as President ...We can look now and see the ruination of his policies toward Cuba.

The sheer size and astronomical number of ethnics mostly Cuban and Hatian and enclaves devoid of any English and dominated by foreign cultures is widespread, not to mention the ever exploding Illegal population!

Frankly, Miami could be located in another country. and no one would know the difference, thats how "American" Miami is today!

And until America gets serious about demanding assimilation, and STOPS Illegal Aliens from flooding in this problem will continue to spread.!
