I'm not a Hispanic and am married to a U.S. citizen. I came here as an immigrant. To make things and the process easier and cheaper, we got married in my country, applied for an immigration visa from there. We applied on June, I had an interview on August and the next day I could get my visa. Yes, you need to sponsor her and prove that your marriage is legal. I had the required medical check-up in my country at one of the clinics that are approved by the U.S. Embassy. The cost was only around $60. The visa alone was around $400. The conditional Green Card (that's right, the immigration visa is the same as Green Card) is valid for 1 year. After that, you have to remove the conditions and it will be valid for 2 years. Just read the INS website. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis
Don't get married in the U.S. with her being here as a visitor. The process will be much longer, more difficult, and more expensive. I'm so glad I didn't do that!

And there was only ONE interview in the U.S. Embassy. That's the benefit of not applying the immigrant visa from the U.S.
If you can accompany her during the interview in her country, I think that can be very beneficial. My husband did that and it made the process much easier. That can also show them that you're serious in marrying her, not because of any hidden motives.
This is all based on my own experience. So it only took 2 months for all of the process until I got my Green Card before coming here. Good luck!

OK first of all you have to know that if she`s in the us she should came here legally if she didn`t she can not stay here and Will have to spend the next 10 years back in her country so it`s better wait for her to go back an get marry in her country but if she did and you`re an s citizen i takes no more than 6 months in INS to issue a temporary green card... you can find alll information here:

Dint' know that to marry a woman a green card is needed. Do you love this woman? Then just marry her. She cannot live in the US? Then since you love her, go to Mexico. That's all
Is it the double income in the US you are worried about; or what?

If you are an American born citizen, then you can get married. You then will have to go through a series of interviews. After you pass these interviews, then you must remained married for 2 years(in case it's for money). You have to live in the same residence for those 2 years. These interviews are tough though. I know this because I almost married a Britt for a few grand. It seemed like way too much work, so I backed out.

It's supposed to be a while. However by marrying her you are immediately becoming a US sponsor. Which means that it should not take half as long as it would take just any other immigrant. It also depends on her country of origin.

I hope you have already made sure, that her motives are pure and she is not just out for a green card. You would not be the first American who fell for this scheme. Better do a background check on her, play it safe.
